I can find plenty for women and kids, but I'm having a hard time finding for men.

Can anyone help out with a few links? I need to make 2, one for my husband and one for my brother.... I'd like to give them a bit of a choice, but I seem to have only found 2 patterns so far online!

I've been looking too and haven't had much luck. :( I want to make one for my husband for Christmas as well. If I find any nice patterns I'll definitly post a link.

Thanks.... I'm on a search, I really want to find one by January at the latest. I'll be on the watch for any books too, and post titles if I can, because I'm sure I'm not the only one looking.

Why is it, that there are a zillion patterns to knit and crochet for women and kids, but patterns to make for men are so hard to come by? Even on the odd and rare occasion I stumble across one, few if any guys I know like it; they're often quite affeminate; just by adding a few stitches wider and knitting it in a darker colour does not make it a man's item! Sheesh!

I was just browsing through knitty.com and found this pattern:

It isn't an aran but it does have some cabling on the bottom.....it's a pretty nice looking sweater. I'm thinking that I'll make this for my guy instead of an aran.
