:D Some people may or may not know that in some recipes on how to make guacamole -- it calls for mayonaise or sour cream to make it creamier. Well today as a matter of fact I was thinking what I could put into the guacamole to make it creamier without the mayo or sour cream and I thought of adding garlic ( or plain ) hummus. brilliant!! So I made up the guacamole with the garlic hummus and it was sooo good. Give it a try and let me know how you think it is. Thanx.

Avocados are loaded with very yummy fat. They are quite creamy on their own...but hummus and guac sounds really good.....

I didn't realize it had to be as complicated as mayo and sour cream and all that... Avacados, salsa, vinaigrette dressing... mashed together! I could go for that hummus thing, too. :)

I've always made guac and skipped the whole sour cream bit, just avacados, lime and garlic... always turned out nice... not that I'm all vegan or anything, just always made it that way... but the garlic hummus idea is pretty sweet, I'll try it.

yeah, if you have good avocados there is no need for extras. Sadly though, sometimes you can't do that, so you need some padding

I haven't tried the hummus idea, but yes...i'm intrigued.

things I have tried included adding about a tablespoon of soy milk (delicious) and adding soft tofu, then whizzing it in a food processor. It's good. So good.

ive got a good recipe for guacamole too.. i actually like it alot better then the regular kind. it's not really so creamy, but it's delicious and has a nice texture of its own.

    1 2/3 cups frozen peas
    1 avacado
    2 tomatoes
    2 cloves garlic
    1/4 minced red onion
    2 tbsp lemon juice
    1 tsp chili powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cumin

puree the peas.. mash the avacado in a separate bowl.. then add everything else, give it a little mix.. and maybe even add some cayenne pepper.. just a dash though.

I am not a vegan... But I have never used anything but veggies when I make Guac. I ad tomatoes, onions, jalapeƱos, crushed garlic, a little salt, and a squeeze of lemon. I have had it with mayo and it nasty. (just my 2 cents)
