Can technology ever be harmful?

    I know this may sound like a strange question. I remember reading a science fictional type story in school one time about how man basically destroyed the earth through too much technology.

    Hmm..is the technology of a soldering gun harmful?? It depends on whose flesh it is pressed against.

    Is the Atomic Bomb harmful, or did it prevent a European war in the second half of the twentieth century?

    The rack, that it, the rack was designed for the sole purpose of torturing people. Yes, technology can be harmful.
