Hi guys, I'm going to travel to Amsterdam alone at 16th December and stay there until 22nd or 24th December. I like smoking marijuana and I plan to walk around the city stoned visiting places (museums etc) and talking photos. I like "getting lost" for hours in the city (I have done it many times in other cities), but will that be a "safe" activity while being stoned in Amsterdam? TIA! PS: Great forum!
It's safe, but it's best to avoid certain unlit areas of the Red Light District after 1am. I can totally hold my own but my advice just ignore those street dealers and beggars. If your into museums I suggest getting a museum voucher, get's you into most of the top ones for a fixed price. Don't take pic's in the RLD and don't walk in red pavements.
its safe i was there alone last year and i slept 2 nights on the street (once in rld though cops will wake you up if you sleep there) i fewlt realy safe all the time
Yup, I got back Sunday and had the time of my life. I was by myself most of the time, but met and hung out with alot of nice people. I think I fell in love with Holland, the food, the people, the lifestyle, and so on. Thanks to everyone on the forum who helped me out before my trip. I think i'm going to start planning another trip for sometime between May-July. Anybody fly in for 4 or 5 nights on a 1,000 dollar budget, or around that? I would like to stay in a decent hotel, nothing special, but not a shithole at the same time. How much do you guys usually spend on your trips all together??? thanks. Alex-
in recent years prices have gone up...... i'm paying $650 roundtrip for a direct flight (last week of april into the first week of may....during the queensday celebration) $75 bucks a night USD for my half of a 2 bedroom 2 floor apartment....... so that works out to about $1000 for airfare and 5 nights in an apartment for me. but i usually stay around 10 nights so its actually costing my about $1300 USD for airfare and an apartment for 9-10 nights. then i'd say i go through $500-$1000 spending money while there.
I usually go to low end places to stay, because I don't stay there too much. I figure a bed is a bed. I'd rather spend money on more interesting things
