Computer photo help for dummies (me) needed-

I am getting better with these things but I still have way to much to learn and not enough time to do it so I just need the basics. I want to put some more new photos in my gallery but when I uploaded them yesterday I got a message saying the size was to much-I had no trouble the first time I put some in; The pics are the same size so what are they saying?-Is there a certain number of photos allowed per person or what?-I have maybe 5 photos in the album now-I want to put another 5 in-I have the same problem at another forum I am a member of-

 

Okay. Lesson #1. Some pictures are in '.bmp' format. Those are pretty big space eaters. One way to make it smaller in file size is to open the picture with Windows
'PAINT" and then click on file on the top left, and then click on 'save as...'
Choose '.jpg' as the file type or extention. These take up much less disk space, making them smaller. That's what I use to make them work with Hip galleries and attatchments.

 

OK-Thanks Matt-I'll try that-for some reason the ones I posted before went right in no problem-I have another one for ya-I have a Altec speaker system for the pc-2 speakers and sub wolfer-I just bought 2 more but they wont work when I plug them in at the same time as the other 2-Whats the trick to getting all 4 to work?-Both sets have their own amp and controls-any idea on whether they can work together?

 

Yeah. I would just get a 'Splitter" for the speaker jack on the PC. Lets ya plug both in at once. Funny you bring it up! I just bought a new Altec 3pc. set w/subwoofer! LoL! YOu know what I mean by splitter? That Y shape thing?

 

Know; but I can find it-it just looks kinda like a telephone splitter right?-Those little Altecs w/the woof kick butt-The sound is real clear-thats why I added 2 more-give it the quad surround sound-Thanks for the feedback Matt-

 

Matt-I got the Y Connector and it works fine-Now I have 4 of those little amped Altecs and 1 sub woofer-I kinda wish I had got another subwoofer with this second set-It could use the second one for better balance; but it still sounds real clean-Altec has just always made great speakers-I read where they started making those huge Theater speakers again. Those things are massive with the big horns in the top-mucho sound-old school Pa systems-

 

Great. Glad ur happy with them. I gotta wait til the middle of Janurary to hook mine up.
