Ok, i'm looking for some good music from the hippy era, but the whole long drawn out thing is getting on my nerves. It was cool at first but now it's just getting boring. So what are some good bands and albums of good concise songs?

Most of the Rolling Stones, The Byrds, The Beatles, Dylan, Zep. But i am really wondering if anyone can recommend the Small Faces. I love the Faces, but no one has ever mentioned the Small Faces to me.

You're an ass. You have no idea what you're talking about.

HonkyTonk, I would seriously check out Love's Forever Changes. It's one of the 60's best albums. Also, The Yardbirds' Roger the Engineer, The Who's The Who Sell Out, Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, The 13th Floor Elevators' The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators, and The Zombies' Odessey & Oracle are good.

i can recommend the small faces. Ogden's Nut Gone Flake is their masterpiece. Other great albums besides the ones mentioned by Lucifer Sam are the beach boys' Pet Sounds, the kinks' The Village Green Preservation Society, the soft machine's Volume 1 and Volume 2, Tomorrow's Tomorrow, country joe and the fish' Electric Music For The Mind And Body and the pretty things' S.F. Sorrow.

The suggestions of The Pretties SF Sorrow, Tomorrow, and Quintessence are superb choices BTW for good melodious and concise tracks on hippy era albums IMHO. Quintessences "In Blissful Company" is a great album and late 60's British psych pop don't get any better than SF Sorrow IMHO.

A couple more might be the US edition of Donovan's Sunshine Superman.

and also maybe not so hippy but more "Flower Punk" would be The Seeds "Future" album, great flower power era sounds all the same
