Assuming the parent is a cop trolling for an easy collar, how is that not CLEAR entrapment? I suppose if he's asking for a MOM source and someone PM'd him with an offer to deal directly, technically that might be fair game for the Law. But supposing the post is a plea for anyone holding? I just can't imagine an instance where that might be actionable.

So even though the supposed LEO is looking for a MOM source, the guy offering to deal directly was not trapped into committing the crime, he was willing to do it himself.

 

I agree that scenario is fair game. Maybe using a 'post' is a poor example. However, say I pm'd you directly, begging for you to mail me a bag at any price. Eventually you agree... Wouldn't all three conditions be met?

Regardless, it's a moot point. Yelling "entrapment" when they kick the doors in won't stop the cuffs... You're still locked up, and any chance at the entrapment defense would require prohibitively expensive lawyer(s), create tons of unwanted attention/press (much worse than a simple possession/dist charge in the long-term IMO), and would likely take years just for the judgement.

 

whereas they found you on a marijuana forum, it might be difficult to prove that you weren't willing to go ahead with it
