Novato- Hey man! You read it right. I'm putting everyones name that asks me, on the vw bus that I went to Woodstock in. And next summer/fall some of us are traveling to the original sight in that bus (once I get the new engine installed this winter). Your name is as good as on it man ! It will be on there tonight after supper ! Peace and Love ! Grandpa Hippy PS- I understood your english just fine and man have you been around! Glad to meet you brother-GH
ah man thats cats man!!!! she's a 1080s i think not that old really but she's had a good life and wants too die.....but were not going to let her. shes got loads of life still in her. im currently restoring her now and doing what i can to keep her 'a' chuggin' then sell her to someone and buy another old one to restore. opuyrly for the purpose of keeping old runners on the road. less waist to landfill
That's farout man! That is what I do with the hearses. There is a lot of wasted metal there if it goes to the landfill. I see a couple of the hearses that I have sold over the years still out and about. Peace and Love! Grandpa Hippy
I am very pleased to meet you too ! Very nice pic with your thread! Hope to talk with you some more! Peace and Love! Grandpa Hippy
Greetings grandpa hippy, and welcome to the forums. I only wish I was around during woodstock. I've watched videos and read many writings on it. Seeing the site is on my checklist for life for suure. And it would be cool to have my name on a van that has seen it all. If you want, you can put J. Pretzer on there somewhere. That is freakin cool man, I'd love to see some pics. Or maybe I'll catcha ride someday. PEACE
Love to put your name on the van! It will be on there this evening! I'll post some pics of the van after I get the new engine in her. I don't want to embarrass her with a pic of her a little burnt up in back ! haha. That would be far out man, to give you a ride in her someday....maybe a trip to where it was all happening in NY, who knows. That van has seen it all!.....and is destined to see alot more I hope. Peace and Love Brother! Grandpa Hippy
c'mon back east, GH, and revel in the splendor...not much has changed in white lake 'cept fer the new shed on yasgur's farm...went there for the first time back in '98 for a mellow afternoon of tunes (richie havens, joanie mitchell, pete townshend, lou reed et al) and i gotta say when i first crossed over the gentle rise and descended into the natural bowl where it all happened i got kind of a lump in my throat like i was touring normandy beach or something...i knew i was in the right place when some kid just handed me the biggest mushroom cap i've ever seen and told me to eat up and join the movement...
Farout ! I can't wait to get the engine back in the bus and take the trip back in time! It all seems like it was yesterday to me. I have my tickets (all except Sundays), plus a three day pass I found on the ground, framed and hanging on my wall. I fade back to 69 everytime I look at them. Quick note too....when I was there, had lunch (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) with the band members from the Grateful Dead...Less Garcia because he was out and about somewhere else. Let me know if you want your name on the bus ! Peace and Love !
yeah mon- like tom wolfe/kesey...i'm ON THE BUS...love garcia in the woodstock movie (the only GD appearance in the film for obvious reasons) "marijuana: exhibit A." funny shit.
