Hey everyone at this lovely forum, my sister just picked me up a tam, becuase well I guess i need one now. So here are my questions. How do you wear this bloody thing? Currently i put the front on the just cram all my dreads in the back. Is that right or wrong?? I just know when I take it off all my hair is like mixed in togehter. Supposedly it helps with the dreading process, is this true, and if so, how so?! Thanks everyone!
Well i'm not too sure what your asking, like how to put it on? I usually pull my hair back, put the tam on from the front, and then kinda roll up my hair and slip it under the rim in the back. After that I just mess with it to even it out. So what's your tam look like? You should post a pic of it.
i hadta give up on tams cause they'd just pop off in 20 min or less from the weight, i ended up havin to get this..well dunno how to describe it..lol its like a very long loose knit sleeve like, sortsa sock like hat..bout 3 1/2 to 4 feet long and i just like thread the dreads on in..its the only 1 i have that stays on well i had 1 other that would stay on, but only when the freind who gave it to me put it on, cause she hadta like tie my dreads up really tight into a crown 1st..which felt great but alwaydss made me feel offballance anf topheavy the hat i really want is 1 of those cone shaped african hats (that look like those chinese hats) but with the center cut out so i could stick my dreds thru and the cone would keep em off my neck for summer i never wear tams much anymore unless its realluy hot out or if i really wanna keep em from dragginin the mud
ahaha my freind who helped me dread my hair was gonna buy me a tam for muh bif day but never did next time i ahve free time i have to go find that dr droners stuff and a tam heh
well sorry guys no tam pic my truck got broken into and all my contractor tools stolen, they even took my tam :X (why?!)
I just made myself a new one the other day (crocheted). It took me forever, but I love it. I made it with a little bill to keep the sun outta my eyes on a bright day, and a drawstring that pulls it tight from either end of the bill. It fits my dreads up inside it and covers my ears in the cold. I love it when I make something like this that comes out just absolutely perfectly how I wanted it! (never done a bill before now) I'll post pics next time we're shooting 'em for the website. It'll probably be in the next few days.
