I've been reading that it's good to rinse locks with teas that can help keep your hair healthy, and some that can aid the locking process. Thing is, when I am looking for them online (curse you, Google!) all I happen upon are pre-made ones that you have to buy online. However, I don't want to spend the money on pre-made teas when I can just buy the supplies in my town. Anyone have any good homemade hair tea recipes? I would greatly appreciate that
oh here is a tea recipe I use that I like alot. Basiaclly Boil as much water as you want (i usually do alot [2 big gatorade bottles] because well tea kinda runs through your hair and does not stay in like soap). Then I throw in some pepermint (makes the hair feel good), rosemary (does something though forgot), vitamin E capsuls (2), and like a couple table spoons full of sea salt (help knots up the hair). Yeah as for the herb amount, I just do like how much I would for tea, so yeah. Hope it works otu good for you.
I keep seeing people recommending things like vitamin E and I am wondering if anyone has any issues with "conditioning" when they do this, as in, dreads becoming unknotty. I used to use hot oil hair treatments when I had straight hair, and loved how my hair was after but I can't imagine that would be very helpful with dreadies.
well its not liek you are using ALOT of vitamin E its like what 2 capsuls over a couple jugs of liquid, not muhc is going to get into your hair ya know. Benefits outweigh the negatives if there are any for sure!
The vitamin e is very soothing to the scalp. Rosemary is awesome - it promotes hair growth. Stinging nettle is good too, for the same reason. And peppermint just smells groovy and feels refreshing.
