Hi everyone, my friend and I are starting a club in our school called Open Your Eyes, to make people aware of the problems in the world and find ways in which we can help fix them, we defiantly want to do something about global warming and pollution, if you have any ideas on how to do that or other projects that we should start please post them, thanks
hey sounds like a good idea; recently my friend and i devised to start a group up called T.A.L.L.-the associtation of Liberty and Love, which is basically a group promoting freedom of speech and gay marriage, and stuff like that. You could start a newspaper and send it around the school, talking about everything you want to talk about. You could also talk to your school principal if you could say a few things over the intercom or something like that.
Hmm something I've been wanting to do about global warming.. Make flyers that have a list of what people can do to stop global warming (#1 would be getting rid of your SUV or whatever) and put it on all the big stupid environment destroying cars! I forgot about that plan actually till now I think I'll do it too.
i wish they had that at my school, i considered starting something like that but i didnt have any luck finding anyone interested.

How about something about the Deep Ecology movement? http://www.deepecology.org/ The constantly increasing "culture of violence" through TV shows, movies, and especially video games. What about compiling some numbers on what our warlike government costs in dollars and the lives of both Americans and other world citizens? You could suggest a return to good manners and civility.

i think that you guys need to target your peers and really think about getting more highschool juniors and seniors interested in the political process of voting. both local and national. You guys could raise money for pet projects by selling home made tye dye too. I bet someone in your art department would be willing to help. You couldn also sell home made printing press projects-- posters. ask about that too. If you guys have morning annoucements that are broadcast on a television, like a lot of highschools, you guys should ask for a minute each morning to raise awareness of bills that congress has passed impacting the environment. this will help people to understand what is going on in the world. You could use that time for anything. Telling people about facts about the current president, you know, anything. This could also boost the enrollment into your club. And i have to say, BRAVO! i am way excited to hear about something like this, especially in highschool. Any person in highschool knows at least one teacher who would help them with an undertaking such as this, and it is my hope that others will follow your awesome lead and do as you are doing. yeah defiantly, ha, I wish our school had the money for tv announcements (not that it's a poor school it's just we thought Astroturf was more important than things that would help us learn, you know, like the kind you might find in a school:banghead: ) thanks for your ideas, i am so exited about this whole thing!
