Yuk yuk. Well, I've been boycotting Seinfeld all my life -I've never watched one full episode of the show, ever. I don't think I really missed much, either....:jester:
He was being heckled in a comedy club. He lost control and used his skill as a word smith to insult the heckler. The fact that the heckler was black increased the number insults avaliable. Richards used some of those race specific insults.
nothing wrong with fuckin with someone when he was be fuked with who cares what color the dude was fuck with him all the same im sure it was all in good humor and not meant to be an insult people like chris rock make racial jokes towards blacks whites mexicans and so forth a joke is ajoke
I won't boycott. its pointless, it doesn't change seinfelds legacy as a great show, that was in the past and can't be changed.
It's ridiculous that he said those things, and he needs to be punished. It's also ridiculous to boycott a show which he played a pretty minor character in- Seinfeld is fucking funny. And the other actors should not be punished for some stupid eff-up he made OFF the show, AFTER it stopped being filmed. His character is hilarious, and the show is good. Editing all his scenes out of the show would just mae it less funny. This is the same as when people burned Dixie Chicks CDs after she insulted George Bush- taken WAY too far.
No, he doesn't. Everyone knows that he was wrong to say those things; everyone knows not to emulate that behaviour. He knows that he was wrong and that he shouldn't do it again. Why punish him?
mel was drunk when he said what he did... lots of people go off on the jews when they're drunk... even some of my jewish friends do... it doesn't make it right but people drink
If we boycotted the works of an artist upon learning certain dirty facts about said artist...I'm not so sure there would ever be much at the art museum (or in the bookstore, OR ON TV...etc) You have to seperate someones work from their actual personality. A lot of great entertainers and artists weren't exactly great people...but you can't deny the quality of their work.
