The Thanksgiving threads have inspired me.

I am not goin to let this thread go for months, but it would be fun to have a virtual Thank You to the Spirit (fill in yours here) Celebration Feast.

I'll have my Bear (my mate of 28 years) make some tables out of old doors, and wood, and saw horses ect. I'll use some old bed sheets and tie dye sheets for table cloths.

What do YOU want to bring to our Feast? (We will need Veggie and Vegan food, as well as Traditional.)

Please tell us what you are thankful for. What do you want for the future?

I will bring a Fall Root Cassarole. Potatoes, carrots, Parsnips, onions, leeks, with butter (I'll make one with just Olive Oil for the Vegans) and Kosher Salt. Roast it for about 1 1/2 hours, in a greased dish, covered for most of the time and uncovered for the last 20 ro 15 minutes. Parsely on top is good.

I'll make a gingerbread cake, and some Rice Dream, and a pumpkin pie, made with tofu instead of canned milk.

I am thankful for the possibility of the pendulum swinging back and people realizing the "Admininstration" in the USA is not right and hopefully done for. I am also thankful for my man and my children, and my dogs and our bunny, and my home.

My hopes for the future are that the pendulum continues to swing, politically. and that Barack Obama can really get in there and make a differnce, and that we will have the funds to help our children get a good education. I also have hopes that my Mother In Law can learn to think for herself, as there is some hope there, but she needs help. (She is in her 70s, but it is never too late.)

Health, Harmony and Happiness for all.

    Whose hungry?

    I am starvin':)

I was too busy cooking to see this earlier, but since we use any excuse to gather and share good food durring this time I'll take my time with it now if that's okay.

*Takes a deep breath and savors the baking casserol and spices*

I bring a freshly baked challah braid, my grandmothers fudge recipe direct from Memphis Tennesee (You gotta say it with a twang) and the egg nog is out on the porch chillin' It's a special recipe I got up in Alaska. It'll keep you warm on the coldest of nights!

Sorreh, my family is a generation or two away from anything without refined sugar. What else is gonna keep you hopped up all night?
    Mebbe I'll learn something here.
*tucks her stuff away in a corner*

Man, oh man what a year! What a buncha years leading up to this year!!

Well my husband just started his own bussiness last year, and it has been alot like giving birth.
I am grateful that the baby was born and has grown by leaps and bounds and is vibrant with all the potential that living is...now. Cause it was real freaking hard for a while and our sh!@ was always getting disconnected because we don't believe in credit cards or bank loans for start up! (My husbands the kinda guy that gets a wild hair and runs with it balls to the wall, and usually it's brillaint. I marvel at him it's like watching someone run down a steep mountain, it's breath taking and exhilarating and the whole time you'r just on the edge of your seat going "OH MY GAWD!!!!" It looks like hes' out of control...but it's the opposite, he sets him self up so well.)

I try my best to nurture it but it is like the weird little kid that you just don't get...I keep the books and do the taxes/payroll and fortunatley the IRS has'nt come to forclose on our house or garnish anything  and the guys let me know when I screw their checks up, and they get alot of unwarrented bonuses, lol, but in all this, I am grateful for the chance to learn how to manage money and not be scared of it. So many dreams lift off with it's green energy and I am both terrified and grateful to be immersed in this lesson right now.

There is so much more to be grateful for, that is just what feeds us and as the company grows, more get fed...

I will be grateful when we get a financial advisor and I have time to go join the art league and be the influential artist I am destined to be (hahaha:tongue: )

My daughter came up and told me that we were the most 'normal' family out of all her friends, and I was real grateful for that because my husband refers to my family as 'carnie folk' and we have always been kind 'special'.

Truth sure is in the eye of the beholder

I am also grateful for the shift in energy that is allowing a paradigm change to occur, sooner or later the darkeness had to give.

May we all realise our potentials.

Do you need a hand in the kitchen? I think I have talked myself out.

Shoo I'm also starving and these recipes sound lovely!!!

I'm grateful for my health and that of my children and close people and for everyone who is healthy on this planet as well.

I will bring some seed bread, real butter and tangy extra maure cheddar cheese plus i will make a special stew for the meat eaters with lamb, carts, baby potatoes, green (string) beans and butternut in it - it's my very own speciality!!

yay!!! im rooting for obama, too!!

that fall root casserole sounds divine.....my honey's the chef in the house(and in career) so he can cook the stuff.....but I gota tell you, he makes a mean succotash....mmm mmm. we can do a cassoulet without the duck....northern beans, tomato puree, etc.

I am thankful for my family, for those who I am blessed to know. I give thanks for these people, these beautiful souls who enrich my life every day. I give thanks for where I live and the things I see...tonight was the most beautiful sunset, and an owl graced my presence...we locked eyes for a good 5 min. I give thanks for the coming of my best friend's baby. I give thanks for the health and well-being of all. And I give thanks to God for making this life on earth bearable and enjoyable.

Ditto on all the thankfuls plus I can add thankful to just be alive, considering the state of the police state, could be dead or in jail...

I'm bringin' Lemon barbecue rabbit (warning, addictive), and a rice and lambsquarters cassarole for the vegies. (Maybe some pot brownies too for the partakers of such things...)

Thanks for puttin' up with my alternative to the alternatives opinions...
