Robert Altman died a few days ago, he made all kinds of films, good and bad, but in there were some undoubted classics, The Player, Short Cuts, the Long Goodbye are some of my favourites. I grew up watching those films. I was looking forward to the new one, "A Prairie Home Companion" ... I don't think it's even been released in cinemas in the UK? I hope it will be.

RIP Mr Altman, I never knew you or, for that matter, ever heard of you. Must be something for the oldies eh?

He daid mon. Good director though, and an intelligent and erudite man, judging by his interviews.
