That's so funny I cannot eat food heavy in fat. i feel disoriented and ill after fast food or a dessert that is heavy in cream or butter. My mom gets on me about taking omega threes but I haven't. We have a huge bottle in the fridge I'll start taking it. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, but rarely eat complete proteins like chicken or fish and instead prefer soy or things like pecans or almonds. I never really thought of that affecting my mind because I take such a good multi vitamin and an iron and b vitamin complex for my anemia. But you're right it makes so much sense that omega threes would effect the brain because they're a complete molecule. You know what else? I so like talking with you. I always love talking to other people who have this as part of their lives. I find them so much more interesting than those who don't. The person I had the longest relationship with had add and our conversations were always so engaging because we spoke each other's language.

Thanks Lynsey Thats a cool list BTW Im almost inclined to start searching for a James Bond villain style hollowed out volcano to base our bid. Whats interesting about many of them is how they deliberately multitasked. And got bored easily letting ideas ferment before coming back with radically original ideas. Lewis Carroll was a brilliant mathematician academic AND a gifted kids author. Most non -A** people would say "what sort of idiot would think u could combine those 2 careers" ___________________ Edison , possibly the most talented man ever alongside da Vinci , would get bored and sit in the dark in the cupboard under his stairs til he had an idea-like lightbulbs and stuff. ____________ Stallone - an Oscar winning writer too- which many people ignore. Lennon - I thought he might be with his multiple skills-writing , and political /social awareness. Da Vinci would actually start some art , then get bored and leave it for years and dabble round with his submarines ,science , cameras , occult and flying machines. Einstein would incorporate daydreaming into his maths calculations. Im guessing but Quentin Tarantino seems like an A**'er to me.He started Kill Bill , got bored and came back to it several years later. His cross-referencing skills are phenomeonal- whether its choosing music , or referring back to themes in iconic earlier films or putting his plot together. The thing to me , is that an A** brain is much better at cross-referencing and linking different areas- via different brain sectors- to give new solutions. Thats why I cant understand people who suggest its a genetic defect to be eradicated.I mean eradicating another Mozart , Da Vinci or Edison!!??? ______________ Right , theres our mailing list to start our International Brother and Sisterhood Secret Network Just a few more names and the World will be ours .....
Lynsey , So you have a largely Vegetarian type diet? I know a fair number of people who stopped being Vegetarians because of iron issues etc.Im not saying u cant be vegetarian and get a brilliant diet , but Id say it must be hard work to get right. I know the brain uses a lot of proteins found in fish.Id say fish proteins are absolutely essential. And chicken , beef , eggs etc all have different types of protein again.Id be very reluctant to be Vegetarian over the protein issues eg with my weight training, but also re the brain protein. __________________ A very few people , I find when im talking to them , we switch the focus across different subtopics whilst on the same general theme. Even if its like a complex thing , the conversation is like animated and excited. As if we're feeding starved sectors of the brain. Other people( clearly non A**) find the conversation disorientating- -like they cant see the links between the sub areas. I find a conversation which keeps in one sub area too one dimensional and simplified sometimes. I know with some non A** people they'll go "what the fucks that got to do with this" , whereas the A** person will seize the common theme. ____________________ Ive written in my diary as the thing Ive learnt for today- that A** are almost a separate species in some ways. And that I should speak much more with A** people I like talking to you and A** people
I was vegan as a child and a veggie until a few months ago. I still find it hard to eat poultry. I cannot eat beef or pork, I just can't do it. I used to eat total crap though so I have gotten better. I used to start my day off with sugar ladden coffee, a disgustingly sweet and fatty pastery then I would skip lunch and eat fruit, crackers and othe snacks for dinner. I was so not used to real food it actually made me ill when I ate a meal. When my eating habits caught up with me and I landed in the hospital with mono and malnutrition (although I was chubby at the time) I just changed and now eat mostly organic food and still indulge in sugar if I am out to eat with friends or it's birthday cake or something of that nature. I am still trying to work out the protein thing though. I am trying to add little bits at a time into each meal. I got dinner down I always eat a balanced meal then and usually have fruit and gronola and yogurt for lunch, but I have got in the horrible habit of skipping breakfast. One of my best friends is a poly sci professor and he has horrible adhd but we have so much fun talking and working out together. I wish I had more friends with it.
Ahhh , right. I dont tend to like pork.Chops are horrible but slices of it cold are fine. Beef is a source of certain things u dont get in other meats as I understand. Braised or stewed steak or fillet( expensive!: ) I find are much easier to digest than some types of beef -like other steak etc Chicken why dont you try sliced breast meat?Leg and wing I find nauseating. How about putting it in soup or with soya meat til youre more accustomed to it? Or slithers of meat in with salad? Maybe put sauces in with meat cooked? _____________ Its really worth treating different proteins as like different minerals , I reckon Maybe even mix in some protein shakes if u find upping your meat intake quickly too hard? _________ Im not a breakfast person really.Infact Im not a morning person.Sometimes , its like my mind needs to settle down before it can work at its best.In the evening and by bedtime , then Im on fire.I can write letters , read and plan complicated things , have ideas so much better the later the day goes on. Other times , I wake up placid and ultra focused - maybe thats down to exercise or aggravating factors re my work.I dont know ,Im still learning. __________________ Today by 3.30 my attention was waning. My body was telling me to go out for a run- as I hadnt exercised yesterday. My non - ADD recognising childhood had indoctrinated me into thinking going for a run at 3.30 was lazy and frivolous. But I knew I shouldve gone. By 3:50 I was having dinner - realisng I shouldve gone for the run when it was sunny and dry- then do a bit more work when I was chilled out after it. Oh well , maybe something new Ive learned for my diary! _________________________________________ I think we should set up an ADD thread , maybe in the "Mental health section". Altho I feel really strongly about it being termed an "illness". Itll get more of us exchanging findings and stuff.I'll start it now. ___________________________ In England you dont find that many adults admitting to A**.Kids are treated for it. But I wonder if they worry about their older bosses becoming prejudiced by it? I dont know , I decided I had to be my own boss. And my business partner seems as A** as me! We come into the office to discuss prices and go off on a tangent about some weird branch of science , or conspiracy theories or ancient history or something equally obscure 5 mins later were struggling to remember how we got onto the topic LOL
BTW Ive put up an ADD thread in the "Mental Health "section. Not an ideal place for it , but ... Maybe we can get a sub forum if its popular?
so you dont' want people who you don't find attractive looking at you or smiling at you. Hrmmm... people have the right to look at and smile at whomever they want to. They're just trying to seem happy is all
well chris, what is there to like about you? thats a serious question. because this thread has been all negative (for the most part) - what about you is positive, what is there to like about you that you see from yourself? and whats wrong with people smiling - thats a nice gesture
The man's lonely and you tell him to find a "chick" that is "do-able"? Chris, you have some very serious personal issues that you can't solve by yourself. I highly suggest you speak to someone, preferably a male professional. You don't have the courage to do certain things and you squander your ineptitude by repeating the same thought patterns and self doubting. You are a man of many patterns, and you're very closed off. I would suggest you do something to improve your situation. Anything at this point.
I am assuming you are single? If a guy doesn't open the door for me, pick up the check on the first couple of dates or make the effort to make me feel special than why the hell should I give them the type of day no matter what I look like? Nahuh not thinking so...don't put in the effort and have no interest in trying-I'm done...time to move on... If you want to talk about equal rights with some chick with matted hair who not only needs a bag over her face but a body bag to be fuckable than be my guest. I know so many guys with your theory of not dating good looking girls and who they end up with is laughable...I'm talking extreme makover canidates-two hour abc special....but I am sure they will all be beautiful to you in time. hah If you want a woman who doesn't require a lot out of you think about it-how much is she going to require out of herself? Guys like you crack me up...what's wrong is you are really insecure and prob not so great looking and a beautiful girl put you through the ringer, you didn't have the ability to measure up to her standars so now you are going after less attractive women to heal your wounds and make yourself look physically better. I know this syndrome. I have dated too many not so good looking guys and have seen what they end up with after me...it is quiet sad...not for me I'm laughing all the way to the martini bar tonight
It's the Aspergers he sees everything as right and wrong, pretty or not, smart or not. Questions people's intentions. It's really not his fault and cognitive therapy for years and years is the only thing that remotley works. Easier to find somone like minded also with aspergers.
Beautiful girls.......well beauty is in what we perceive to be beautiful. That is subjective. Any person who has to state how beautiful they are, are not. So perhaps the image of what is beautiful is rather warped. A truly beautiful woman will be just that, not in looks, not in body structure or bone structure, they will radiate to a person that they are beautiful. Our societal definition of beauty is skewed. Why do we all buy into it? No clue.......other than it meets a need in that person and justifies their existence on that level only. Anyone who constantly reminds you that they are so beautiful........run like hell as there are issues there.
This small issue of who pays the bill on a date is solved very easily. I, the guy, offer to cover it. If my date feels uncomfortable with that, she will say so and will pay her share. I don't normally allow the date to pay the whole bill if she tries to do that, since that seems to imply that I'm in the poorhouse, which is not the case. The exception might be if the bill is just for two coffees and we're totally mismatched, as often happens on a blind date. Same principle applies to asking for a first kiss. The girl likes the guy to take some initiative here. I had one date stop seeing me because she felt (and told me so) that I was being too timid, not taking any initiative. The approach should be toward becoming friends and building trust. Quite often a woman is dating because she just left a bad relationship. It's not like a management contract. No one will build trust by making demands. At any rate, Dear Abby is not in danger of going out of business anytime soon.
bill paying... I like dirtydog's theory on it. The first date or two, I'm a little old fashioned, the guy should at least offer to pay, should hold the door (mind you if I'm first the door I hold it for him, it's just a respect thing, I do that for my friends too). Since my first dates have almost always been coffee, it's like four bucks at the most to make me feel a lot happier. It's not a make or break thing for me, but it is for my mother... she simply won't go on a second date with a man who doesn't offer to pay on the first date.
Why i see too many female creatures here ???????????? This is Man's things - Go away. We will come to you later - leave us alone.
I have a nice little life if a man wants me he needs to prove that if I am with him my life is not going to de-escalate in any way. Men can't see this. I had a guy ask me a couple of years ago to move in with him, give up my car, my bank account, Southern California and my family's security to move into a one bedroom apartment and live off of his meager income...he was floored as to why I would not do it. Seriously, what is there not to get? What makes guys like that think they are remotley special, never the less I don't know why the hell you think you're special as you seem to have NOTHING to offer anyone. Men are a dime a dozen, even good ones. Your statment is putting way to much importance on your gender as a whole. I've never met a guy I haven't been able to 'get over' because I never put myself in a position to 'be under' them. I've never had a guy who had a problem paying for a date...most likely because guys like you would not even get a hello back from me. But I have no problem attempting to pay once in awhile after I know somone well (this attempt is most of the time a wasted effort). So yeah what's between my legs seems to entitle me to a lot...and that's significant seeing as I can count the number of guys who have seen it on one hand. ...so...what makes you good enough to judge me?
