Tons of greats, Hawkwind, 13th Floor Elevators, Love, Steamhammer, Michael Yonkers, Barrett era Floyd, Zep, MC5, Stooges, Spacemen 3, you name it.

My favorite is by Spiritualized, though. "Ladies And Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space" has to be my all time favorite. It just caters to so many moods in one album.

I think that Pink Floyd, any of their music would be good to trip on, I've never tripped hard, just magic mushrooms and such so far, but I was listening to PF on those and I was put into a very solemn, calm state. It was nice.

    much love yos! <3

the best psychadelic in my opinion, would probably either be Are You Experienced or Meddle by Pink Floyd

    The Glove - Blue Sunshine

    1983

The Cure's Robert Smith+The Banshees' Steve Severin+a very sensuous female vocalist named Landray+weird videos+lots of LSD. a very gleefull mixture.

there is simply nothing else like The Glove. i played Blue Sunshine at a party recently and the room was divided into those who were seduced into a trance and glovey vibe (also somewhat LSD induced) and those few, sad people who wanted to listen to swedish grindcore instead. i know none of you have ever heard of this album, but if you're lucky, it will enter your life.

    move around my daydream
    like fingers in a glove
    twisting round and round
    round and round with love

I always get confused when I visit this thread because I assume it's psychedelic trance, not rock.

Nevermind *lowers head and walks out*

Definitely 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' by Pink Floyd. That was back when they had Syd Barrett. It really is just too good to describe; you have to hear it, really.

I also think that the three Jimi Hendrix Expeience albums must be up there somewhere, but not at #1 because there were blues songs and what have you on there as well.

I grew up with West Coast American psychedelia - Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Country Joe and the Fish. One British band we used to trip to at Sheffield University was Quintessence, whose eponymous (!) 1970 album combines Hindu psychedelia with a stunning gatefold cover. Don't miss it!

Talking about psychedelic trance, one of the guys who formed Quintessence is now in the psytranceprojects like Sphongle and 1200 Micorgrams. :D

im suprised only 1 person has said dark side of the moon. i know many people think its overated, but it has to be one of the best albums to trip too, even if its overrated (which i dont think it is), doesnt mean you cant say its a good psychedelic tripping album

I'd prefer a compilation to any band's album, with selections from many artists. In the last few years there have been a few triple CD sets of british underground music from the late 60s to the early 70s. They all have about 4 hours of music (how many albums would it take to fill up 4 hours?)
My favourite is called A Breath Of Fresh Air, released by Harvest Records last year.
