Wow! Went to SCI last night at the fox and there was the best/biggest glowstick war I've ever been at in my life. It was so insane! Plus I was trippin outta my mind, catchin trails all over the place. It was so just weird, like I'd looka round and jsut see them everywhere in the air and like not be able to see anybody throwin them. Man, super cool. Ya gotta love jam show environment!
Man, glowstick wars are the shit. Just be careful, these people seemed to be in a different dimension at the time and they threw their hoops at the last SCI show I went to. I almost got hit in the face with one a few times. Then this guy who I was standing with thought it'd be funny to start a bit of a sarcastic moshpit--so we convinced some people to do the Charleston and the robot with us and started to get this circle thing going. I had too much brownie that night. Hit em up a shitload before Nershi boots it for Homeslice. I might even follow them this Summer. I've gotta. Man, if I do, when I make it down to hotlanta, I'll pick you up... whenever that may be. I'm gonna miss the boys, man. I'm really gonna miss Billy, but I've got hope and I've been putting my faith in HH. I know he likes the vibe of a small tour and being able to jam with his wife, so I'm hoping if he enjoys it more, he'll make the trio even better. Who knows, maybe the cheese will come back together like '02.
mann, you let me fuckin know when that is bro. I'd get my shit together and go on tour faster than George Bush gets confused tryin to tie his shoes
I've noticed you've been going to concerts every few nights, here, lately. Last I saw was... dammit, I could hardly remember. Ziggy got sick, canceled his tour last Saturday, and he's moving his tour to 4-07, so I saw G. Love and Special sauce. Marc Broussard was there. That was.. what, Wednesday? I have a difficult time keeping track of my shows.
yea basicaly. its kind of like a big snowball fight, except way cooler. You dont actualy try and hit people, you jsut junk them in the air and it makes an awesome spectacle. And yes George, this week has been full of shows for me. Kinda bittersweet. It made my thanksgiving break seem to kinda evaporate....back to school monday......ahhhh....kinda wish i could drop out, onyl thing is that in GA if you drop out they wont letcha get your driver's liscense untill your 18, def need to drive before then
I know how it goes, man. I'm doing my best to get out of the school I'm in and get into a different school or just get out, get a GED, and go to the college next to the school I go to (which would probably end up being quicker anyway, since you're moreso at a self-taught pace than being at the mercy of others and the NCLB act). I seem to keep getting sent in circles, otherwise... I tried getting out and homeschooling once, but the school never sent my test results back, so I had to go back to the overcrowded, army brat, Eurocentric curriculized, unusable-copier-machinated school I go to (yes, we had a point in time this year when teachers had to ask for copies a week in advance because all the copier machines decided to die at the same time.) Last year we ran out of our paper supply around February or March... and textbook shortages appear to be quite prevalent in my daily life. Sometimes I feel sorry/guilty when it comes to my opinion, here, due to lotsa kids not having desks or anything, having to sit on dirt floors in Ethiopia or Namibia... but like I've always said, a halfassed education isn't any better than none at all. Otherwise I'd go to Hampton, VA... I already go to a vocational/engineering training school there. There is no piece of architecture more beautiful than mothership Hampton when she's all lit up... I end up either picking up my buddy farmer (plants the good stuff) there or ending up at a show there every week. The last show I went to there was the doobie brothers... Summer '04 tour with Ph.
Well, my "home school" is in the county where I live, but I only attend there for two periods, every other day. I do this so I can spend as least time possible in a general public school while being able to pass... for now. But it's starting to get where I'm used to my other school, or I get stuck in traffic, then end up just not going for the other part of the day, since it's been more hassle to show up and explain yourself after being stuck on I-64 for an hour. One day, I got ISS for it because the bus took a shortcut I didn't think of/know. (The bus is overcrowded, so I have to get up and drive my silverado-drivin'-ass down to hampton at 5:00am, which costs at least $5 to $7 a day in fuel, so I end up having to get rid of an L every day for extra gas money... har) Otherwise, I'm in a program which sends me to the governor's school (for people with above-average county test averages)... I go there for part of the day then to the technical school across the hallway for HVAC systems engineering. I get an hour lunchbreak (which I generally spend at home... sometimes I'll smoke, other times I take a nap/do homework with the hour) and get an early out.
taht sounds badass man. I'm in an independent study type program. Its called Grace Academy (a christian school but my only option besides public school...) Anyways, our school day is from 8:30-12:30 and we only have an actual classroom with a teacher for math which is everyday and literature which is only tuesdays and thursdays. It works out pretty alright, but I'd definately rather not have to do it all... If you're serious about the tour I'm definately down with that man. Also, you should try and make it down for the Langerado Festival. There's a killer line up this year and its one of the smallest festivals in the southeast, only 15000. Its on the edge of the everglades and the Okefenokee Swamp. Super cool area. http://www.langerado.com/ <---- teh shit
I know a guy at the University of Miami who works for that fest, as well as a PR/Producer in MIA that promotes Langerado and was a trumpet player in this band... My uh.. lit teacher happens to be the drummer, as well. http://www.myspace.com/hierarchyofnuts I haven't even checked the lineup/dates for Langerado this year, but I probably won't make it until May or June, though that may change. I'm trying to get a bigger, yet efficient vehicle or an RV/bus. The only thing I have to choose from are Silverados, or older Toyotas, one of which doesn't start at times... I tested an '03 VW TDI Passat wagon with 4-Motion for a couple days this past week. Was quite badass, but I'm hoping to get into a WRX this week... The 07s are dank... but a little too plush for me. Even the used ones are going for ridiculous prices, but they hold their value.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa9qqPToBPM And... I love this DVD. He's one of the best bassists in the world, yet I've seen him at an amusement park. I can't say the same about Bernie Worell, but if I could only count how many times I've seen that organ there that Danny Louis has. The Hammond/Clavinet/Rhodes makes for a beast combo.
