For the past two days I've been testing an excellent program called Greenborder pro that I found on the net. You install it and thats it - then you browse as normal. Basically its a level of security that prevents websites altering your registry and from reading any files on your disk (a sandpit program). I believe it creates copies of parts of your system and, while you are browsing, these files are used instead of the real ones - This means that spyware adware and rootkits cannot be installed in a browser session In 2 days it has (or says it has) prevented over 150 registry changes and blocked 72 file changes. I must say that since using it I feel as though browsing is slightly faster and I tend to trust this program it has some good reviews this is a review of how it works etc if you can find any I would be glad of any reviews that are against it ! this is the site but I couldnt download it there - a note kept saying c-net is busy http://www.greenborder.com/consumer/download.php - so I went and Downloaded it from cnet greenborder download page on cnet
Actually, I saw a review of it sometime ago..It looks to be the best. Good job. Here's another link for ya. http://www.techsupportalert.com/security_virtualization.htm
thanks a lot weaverworld - that review was very informative! I havent seen anyone complain about greenborder - andthey apparently rate it the best there - Like I say - I've only tested it for 3 days now and it does seem to have a benificial effect
