Already the police in Britain have unprecidented power and this is the final straw ! Britain is setting itself up as the totalitarian state on the edge of Europe and allows its police to Trawl for information about you from your neighbours. Also they are allowed to use police dogs in the street to sniff for drugs and other contraband in large crowds. The police powers are out of control in Britain and need to be curbed. No police officer now needs a warrant to enter your home unless they have the intent to search it. They can take your car and crush it if your driving documents are not 100% in order - what next? Are they gonna come and arrest people who read books about anarchism or communism??? How about people who organise demonstrations -
ITS TIME PEOPLE PUT THE PARLIAMENT AND MONARCHY IN ITS PLACE !!!

What I've sussed out is that we have here a police state that is
basically "the empire of the English speaking world"
Our laws are all becoming homogenised (made into one law) across all the west in effect so what is law in USA is law in Britain and I hate that thought
we are all losing our freedom in a concerted government action against the people of the west !

From what i've heard it would be a 2 story tower with cameras and a spotlight that would operate on hydraulics and be just big enough for 1-2 police officers.

 

The only plus side I can see to the fingerprinting issue is that if it helped me to prove myself not guilty of something...otherwise , I prefer to be unknown !!

 

Nah this is the fact that the British police can trawl the streets fingerprinting everyone to push up their statistics of crimes solved - also to keep data in a persons records so that they will have a profile of everyone that is useful in fitting people up with evidence to securte a conviction - the British police are skilled - highly skilled in fitting people up and every year there are more people released from prison that shouldnt have been there in the first place in high profile court cases where conviction is overturned 10 or 20 years later
THE BRITISH POLICE ARE CORRUPT ! but not at the tacky level where they take bribes

The police are there to arrest people now not to solve crime and they arrest anyone that they want on any charge they can think of then just fit them up! I think that they are trying out various police state tactics in the UK, and once implemented there will bring them to the US. The UK and the US government are pretty much in bed together. And some of the things we are hiding under the covers are just despicable. I truely do not know what we are gonna do. Because they have the biggest guns and the greater evil. And we are apathetic and scared. I guess we'll either have to get tougher or we'll all be prisoners.

coming from britain i'd say it wasn't likely if you are younger rather than older, (margaret thatcher in her infinite wisdom crushed education many years ago, this has led to the social chaos of britain today. no one can think anymore. hg wells discusses this in his "history of the world" i think - he compares the organised/educated mind with the disorganised/ uneducated mind, it is education that builds a society and civillisation not the machinations of small band of educated savages that dominate the democratic process.)

the advantage of the eu is that you can travel. maybe you could try spain? it would be better if you travelled elsewhere in group for safety with people you know but this could be problem getting people to travel. there are books out there about "working holidays". as you get older it gets harder.

you need to do research and reconnaissance.

i didn't choose europe because thankfully my circumstances me freedom to leave the area.

voting is a good way of sticking it to the government and the idiots in charge you can always do this from abroad, come the next election i will reclaim my right to vote and go for the monster raving loony party.

 

I think my only hope is that one day I may have enough money to emigrate - I cant count on getting a visa to australia and the USA is Big Britain
I have travelled around Europe and like spain and France - Perhaps one day I will have enough to sell this property and buy another in spain and also have a bank account to live off but I dont have a trade as such - just computer skills (very good ones I can install whole networks for small to medium sized business, and install all the necessary servers etc). I see what you are saying - yeah it seems these days we get the laws the USA create - somewhere down the line, and then we make other laws and they are put into the USA laws at some point. I hate this fascist empire thats being created I really do - and when we have to carri ID cards I am going to burn mine outside parliament !
I am going to protest bigstyle when we have to carry ID cards and will keep refusing - you may see me on TV when that happens I really will object and will cause a lot of trouble just to be granted the fact that no law maker or monarch has more right to this land than I do. I for one don't want to be in any way construed as living under Mexican law. They have a large country rich in natural resources and a moderate climate, and their poor are breaching our borders so that they can make a living. Because their government is so corrupt. for america it may not be the same. the americans overthrew the monarchy, the british never did. a few years after the english civil war everything went back to normal. not that these days the queen has much to do with the shennanigans of the nations "leaders". it won't be long before the uk will be like living under the yoke of the KGB. from my own experience england was always very desperate, you either had money or you didn't which affected education and opportunity. being from the lowest rungs of british society i was more or less kicked in the face from every quarter. despite my situation i eventually had the nous to move out. high taxes (17.5 %) were designed to keep the serf down where he belonged in the gutter and in the cities. saying that i know people who have moved to the uk, then again they had some advantage before going there. at any rate its not my problem any more.

 

I cannot speak any other language than English - and because of it a beautiful thing happens when I am in mid-Europe - There is no politics there for me. I go there and imagine their posters are all revolutionary - with the tiny bit of French/spanish I know - posters there look like they say "Hey the world is wonderful - and I'm not a bad guy - vote for me" I dont care what political persuasion they are - when in France or spain I just care how much the wine costs and whats around that corner I havent been round before - Also I dont know if you have been to Britain Gardener - but I am sure the people of the USA think it is a beautiful and charming place with quaint tradition. A lot like I see France. This is so common in London now - its like this when you try to get on a bus
or train they check to see if you've got a valid ticket - here they are checking people for drugs (thats what it looks like) - they do that now at random on the tube trains and on the busses especially in the poor places like Hackney - the poor have no rights anymore
It is always like this at Kings cross they pick people at random and then gather data from them about who they are under the pretense of looking for contraband

Do Brits have any rights against unreasonable search and seizure? I realize here in the US they have been eroded but not to the point you are picturing. Security is one thing, outright invasion of personal rights and space is another.

A police officer may now search you in Britain even if they have no reasonable suspicion of any involvement in crime - it is also an offence to withold or to supply your correct name - DOB - and any other personal details the officer requests. If they arrest you - you can choose to remain silent - but if you do it counts against you and is not counted as a neutral act !
The police can enter your home without a warrant and may serch your home on a reasonable suspicion.
We have no protection now against the police - they are routinely profiling neighbourhoods and individuals. I dont know why but lately Hackney in North London seems to be a testing ground for police state tactics. Also at railway stations - the major ones in london the go in huge numbers with sniffer dogs - not looking for weapons but looking for drugs arrests
Now they can trawl at random taking fingerprints so they can check the individual to see if they are wanted - guilty till proven innocent ! Oh but at last they have introduced police gangs where they are actively arresting illegal immigrants and forcibly throwing them out of the country - thats the only good thing to come of it ! However
I can see a not too distant future where they arrest people for not being present at book burning ceremonies !

maybe the metropolitan police could get some ideas from the old war movies and use them for training purposes, you know the ones where the gestapo is searching trains/ houses - "papers please!!". if anything it should teach them to scrutinise the id papers more carefully, or maybe to stick the bayonet deeper into the haystack when looking for its citizens. maybe it wouldn't have been a bad idea if hitler had won the war, for your average englishman now it wouldn't matter, one tyrannical master is very much like the other.

It mainly happens in London but I hear Birmingham is getting that way too.
Apparently in Birmingham (I have some family there) If you take photographs of public buildings in the city centre they confiscate your camera. It happened to a friend of my sisters and its been in the Birmingham Evening Mail.
Its well documented - however theres so much about cameras and police on the net I cant get the precise info - will try the birmingham evening mail
The incidents in birmingham are ordinary citizens over a two month period were made to delete photos and some had cameras stolen by the police
