Okay, I've made a couple posts about my dad and grandpa, and how we think they're still hanging around (they passed away in the same house) and all that good stuff, but this is just weird...
My younger sister is 16 years old. She was born with autoimmune hepatitis and had a liver transplant last Summer (July). My dad passed away this year in July. My mom and i were talking on the phone about my sister, about how she probably isn't going to make it and they've given her less than 6 months (she lives in Edmonton with her real mother, close to a really good hospital). She was just keeping me updated about what's going on with my sister. I said something along the lines of, "Y'know, after all of this with dad, I just keep thinking... maybe he just had to go, I mean, to be there before Robyn and everything..." now, I'm not religious (don't believe in God/Satan, Heaven/Hell, etc) but I DO believe that after you die, your spirit is set free to roam the world, the universe... or chained down by the guilt of things that you did in your life unless you can eventually come to accept these things and forgive yourself (I guess it's kinda like another version of Heaven/Hell).
right after I said it, my mom told me about a dream she had. Almost every time any of us have dreams about my dad, we can't remember them. I'll wake up and KNOW that I had a dream about him, but for the life of me, I can not remember it. She remembered this one. She was in the back yard by the fence, working in her flowers/gardens. He came up on the other side of the fence. "I have to go see Robyn." (that's my sister) She told him that he couldn't, that he would just scare her and it wasn't a good idea. It wasn't as if he was still alive, she realized that he was gone and had come back to talk to her. He just kept saying it, "I have to go see Robyn." She kept telling him that he couldn't, it was a bad idea, he'd scare her, etc. but he was persistant. It started raining and he wasn't wearing a shirt, so she came into the house to get him a shirt. He started putting it on, and then he just disappeared. When she woke up, the first thing she saw was his face right up to hers, almost as if he was laying right there beside her but there was no body, just the image of his face right there.

Normally, I wouldn't have even thought that, that "maybe he just had to go first, to be there for Robyn". I don't know what brought that idea into my head, and though it was a gunshot, we're 100% sure that his death was just a very weird, extremely unlikely accident. Maybe he's trying to tell us that he really did have to go first, because we all know that he couldn't handle watching one of his children go.
(The only dream that I remember about him was where it was just the two of us, I don't know where we were, but he seemed like he had something that was incredibly important, that he just HAD to say to me, but couldn't find the words to say it.)
