the only thing that will fade your tattoo is the sun and time.

the wrist will get alot of sun so the brown will fade faster than the black

I've have light & dark blue, dark red/brown, orange, green, white, & black outlines which hasn't faded yet & I've been getting work for 10 years. I have a white geographic design on my wrist also dark red/brown for outlines of my flames around my wrist & up to my elbow. It helps if you cover them up in the sun & find a good tattoo artist that uses only best quality ink(this means alot for the aging of your tattoo). My wife's outlines has white, 3 shades of purple, 2 shades of pink, green, blue, & black & she tans:uhoh2: her tats haven't faded yet. She even has black tribal on her theigh for 10 years that still a solid bold black. My tattoo artist does everything freehand out of his head. He likes doing color outlines more to match the tattoo better.

When a black tattoo is finished, it will look brownish red for a couple of weeks. This is because of the bleeding from the tattooing. Then it turns black when it is healed. My first tattoo did not do this. My Jerry tattoo started out brown though, but was done by a better artist. At first I thouught that lots of people were getting brown tattoos.
