Domain kiting sounds like testing domain names to pick the one that works. Intialy register 10,000; keep the few that do the best and claim the money back guarentee on the others.

yeah thats right - whatever happens they make money - its not illegal though but immoral none-the-less. Also when you look for a domain name on the web through one of their search engines - they register it immediately if they can - and make your registrar bid for it - so for a really big company it could cost them $1000's to buy a domain name that is registered but not being used and was only registered to make money in that way

Oh, I think those companies are moral slugs anyway. I haven't defined it presisly to myself, but there is something immoral about putting that much time and effort into making a profit for doing nothing.

When I posted, I should have realized that it was too early in the morning for me to attempt on-line sarcasm.

Got some guy who sent an email to me asking if I would transfer money into an English account. He said that his father had said that the cheque, the inheritance could only be cashed in an English bank. I obviously ignored and deleted. He wanted to know everything about me.

talkin of the nigerian scam I found this gem of a website which seems
to be victims of the 419 scam all talking about how they got roped in
    or had a narrow escape

    http://www.delphifaq.com/faq/scams/f987.shtml

    Its ridiculous really - that
    a) scammers think people are that stupid
    b)some people are that stupid

Thanks for that information. I simply deleted his email. It was sent to an Aol email address which I opened but hardly ever use.
