hey guys, I'm Tracy ex-vegetarian, working on returning to the fold. This is my first week of not eating meat and its gone pretty well. I accidently ate meat a few days ago when a friend offered me some of her lunch. I'm working on transitioning but I'm having a hard time, who wouldve thought that 1 year wating meat would make me forget all the things I used to do for 3 whole years... Christ... so if you guys have any good advice or books I'd be much obliged. Tata, Tracy
Tracy, go read the So you want to be a Vegetarian? sub forum, where many early questions are answered.
"Diet for a Small Planet" is a great book (by Frances Moore Lappe) - also includes recipes. "Diet for a New America" is another good one, but I haven't read it yet. For cookbooks, some of my favorites are the New Moosewood Cookbook (or any by Mollie Katzen) and La Dolce Vegan by Sarah Kramer. Good luck & hang in there - it's willpower more than anything else, and as drumminmama menitoned, the sub-forum is very helpful.
hello, tracy. the very best of luck going back to vegetarianism! remember all the things that made you want to go veggie in the first place, and you'll be fine!!! alway, always think positively, my friend!
