A friend of mine worships his computer and has become a Linux guru he makes us wash our hands before we touch the keyboard and we have to chant the commands as we type them he says that is the only way we will ever get accepted by the Linux cultists and I feel I am being brainwashed - is this normal
being brainwashed is 'normal' in the sense that we all are from birth. or rather under 'brainwashing' influences, begining with our parents and peers. this is a proccess anthropologists euphamisticly refer to as enculturation. since linux isn't a person but a concept, although it is one individual, or actualy a family of individual, open source opperating systems, but the point being something other then an individual sentient awairness, it is most like in the same catigory as, according to the hitchiker's guide, is our entire planet, i.e. mostly harmless. this makes it considerably more innocent then such massively persuasive PERSONALITY cults, as christianity and islam. and if all the 'gods' of linux are asking of you is to wash your blinkin hands, this is probably a good thing, or again, at least a "mostly harmless" one. one thing one needs to realize though, is that whatever anyone says about the NONTANGABLE and the UNKNOWN, is what someone is saying, and that awairnessess and whatever else might be out there in the nontangable, do not begin with what ANYONE says or immagines themsleves to 'know' about it. =^^= .../\...
The other day the linux guru insisted that we read our bibles and I thought it was false it said that Microsoft are evil but how can that be ? Bill gates just gave a stack of cash to the 3rd world - you dont see that happening in the microsofophobic world - I have had enough of this linux religion I dont even believe in the prophet "root" anymore I'm going back to the atheist forum
