Reminds me of the song, Limelight by Rush. Basically describes being famous and in the spotlight at all times. Its good for some and not so good for others.

Famous in this world? Not in the conventional sense.

And it seems every year the papparazi are getting more and more intense. They almost know exactly where you are at all times and don't care if they are in your face.

honestly i would definitely want to be famous just for the opportunity to do all these goofy things that normal people would never get the chance to do... like making music videos, that seems like so much fun. i'd rather be followed around and scrutinized and loved and hated and a huge fuckup, than not be remembered at all when i die, and not have any power to make changes... none of us know what it's like, and i guess you can't understand it unless you experience it yourself, so if someone asked me if i wanted to be famous, i'd say yes...

Having been in the rock business for 26 years, and toured the west coast , and done the whole routine with the fan base and trappings...I would say no...I wouldnt want to be famouse again....its fun at first...but it brings with it all kinds of things you dont plan on.

no. i thought about this the other day actually. because, you can't...or won't allow yourself to be you. magazines are always ragging at you for the clothes you wear or if your skin isn't perfect. plus, i don't like to be the center of attention so it just wouldn't work out for me.

I don't wanna be famous...Legendary would be nice, but not famous. It implies something fleeting, like those random serial writers that show up every now and then.

Fame isn't something I necessarily want, but I'd give anything in the world to make art that's everlasting...that people still read religiously after 50 years have gone by. Hemingway status, that's what I want. Pulitzer prize, my ass. I'm goin' for the biggun-the Nobel in lit.

Absolutely, so I could say the kinds of things other famous people rarely if ever have the balls to say about society, the government, and world in general.
...and I'd have enough money to make it count.

Why not? I mean famous people seem pretty happy to me, and I think It would'nt be hard getting used to being recognised if you had that much money. why not...

I don't have much money, I spend it as fast as I can for useful stuff and to do things for friends. I'm famous, seems like a lot of people come up and say hi to me, I have no idea who they are, but I smile a greet them warmly. Peopl in the local goivernment all seem to have heard the name Honor Seed, I have quite a reputation in this county because of fighting the entire county over whether or not I can have friends live in a trailer next to me. Most of the rednecks and liberals here have seen my walk through the stores, bars and on the street impersonating a female wearing hi heels, fishnet and a miniskirt. I have to tell them I am a straight dude and no I don't wanna go to your home for a drink. If you don't think a 6 foot sexy blond that wouldn't look outta place at the Playboy Mansion attracts attention and makes you famous, try it sometime for a year.
I've had so many druggies live here and party, I'm famous with the cops who won't allow a parole to live here after getting outta jail.
I'm famous with the Mexicans and Thais who filled the community and started working the oysters, I taught the mex how to do the job before I left the company, got them new mattresses to lay on in their company rental units and taught them how to do auto body work. They call me Montaban or Ernesto, some I met are major drug connections, some are just downright family folk hardworking and righteous people, my friends make me famous, no money down bro, just lovin my fellow human.

I want to be recognised in my chosen field of endeavour, but I do not want to be famous.
