My children are mixed race. In England they would probably be classed as black. My youngest son has not experienced England - he considers himself to be a Scot.

I would never dream of making porridge without salt. Or soaking the oatmeal overnight in the milk!!

You can put sugar on it afterwards.....

Which is why we eat porridge! It is often cold and wet. That is called the winter.

    In the summer it's called "not-having-to-have-a-hosepipe-ban-aren't-we-lucky our-gardens-are-going-to-get-watered-anyway!"

    An English mating dance
(probably the result of too much sugar in the mornings) [IMG]

    The Queen gave back
    The Stone of Scone.
It was stashed under her throne.
It was ripped of and gone missing
    But now its home.

Was wondering who governs Scotland? Do they have a leader or do they rely on the dunderhead known as Tony blair?

Scotland is a country, but not a nation state. The British parliament is responsible for the majority of governance in Scotland, though some powers have been devolved to the Scottish parliament, which is currently, I think, run by a Lib-Dem and Labour coalition....

We have what is known as the Scottish Executive. It was created to pacify the Nationalists. It is located in an overpriced building in Edinburgh. We have a seperate NHS,education system, banking system and legal system. The next elections (in the spring) will be interesting.... I think we've had it up to the hilt with Blair, the Torys - well they are the token tories here - in Westminster they only have one scottich seat.

I've always been encouraged by the progress of the Scottish Socialist Party personally. But alas, Tommy Sheridan seems to have blown their chances. That's why you should never have heroes - they just let you down when you see that they're human too....

True, perhaps, and the electoral changes would have counted against them, but I think the split was the final nail in the coffin. Sheridan put the personal before the political, and it cost everyone....
