Sony sucks ass! The charge 600.00 and then only release 400,000 units in the u.s., knowing that those idiots on ebay are willing to pay 5,000.00 for a system that will certainly have bugs for the first couple gens of machines. It's all hype. and it's all about that fucking blue ray shit. Yeah technically speaking they might have a better system (have to wait and see), but for the price of the system controllers games remote and all that you might as well get a decent PC that'll have way better graphics on its games. the only reason i would get a PS3 would be if the price dropped drastically and they release some games worth playing sometime soon (FF anyone?). Same goes for both the Wii and the 360. A smart gamer will wait about 1-2 years and then mod the shit out of a ps3 to play 360 games like halo 3, pc games, and some wii games(although i dont much about the Wii, other than nintendo doesnt even pretend to care about anyone older than 13), That or get into PC gaming. If you are paying $5,000.00 for a CONSOLE, you are an idiot.

the retail price is already high, and a ripoff, so its not gonna go higher. it won't drop for a while, because it is the christmas season and well, people are paying $2500+ on ebay for it - fucking idiots.
at $250 i garauntee the Wii is going to be selling fast though... I don't know about that fucked up controller though, ballsy, but i don't think people are ready to give up the traditional controller quite yet.
Hey, back in the 80's people got trampled to death trying to get Cabbage Patch Kids. Those were only $30 dolls... I am not a bandwagon jumper...I wait until the bugs are out of a product and the price goes down. Then, if I still want one, I'll see about it. I got a DVD player last year.
oh definately that will sell fast. but like you said, i don't know if people are ready for that type of controller (atleast the majority of gamers), so we'll see how it plays out. i'm tempted to get the Wii though, but i know that price will drop too. i'm quite happy with my PS2 right now, so i can definately wait a while to purchase one of these new consoles
smart. Next gen is never worth getting for at least the year. After that they'll start putting out decent games and start exploring the limits of the tech, until then... Most of the peopl waiting DAYS to get a next gen system are only doing so so they can say, "i was one of the first". fuck em. I'd rather have a good system at a reasonable price than something new and shiny. As far as price drop, we might be waiting a while, i heard that blue-ray disc players alone are going for over 1,000.00 right now...

That's what i heard, but don't quote me cause i don't know for sure, that was told to me by a PS3 rep justifying the price... I will say they have packed a lot of shit into it, but like i said, might as well go PC if your gonna spend that much.
oh yea, a few of my friends have PC's that they built just for gaming....blows my mind and they can just keep upgrading...
When you look at the specs of the PS3 side by side with the specs of the 360, the PS3 destroys the 360. Also, I don't know about PS3, but PS2 had free online play for everything, whereas the 360 is still a subscriptions service. As far as the Wii goes, I hate the name. They should have stuck with "Revolution". And as far as the comment goes that Nintendo doesn't even pretend to care about anybody over the age of 13, I must say I don't quite agree, but I will admit the older crowd is largely neglected. The genius of Nintendo in this latest move however is that they kept it simple. Why do I need to pay an extra $100 because Microsoft felt I needed yet another DVD player? Not to mention with the Wii you have access to perfect play of every Sega and Nintendo game ever made, eventually. I don't know about you guys but I love a lot of those games more than some of the new games. How awesome is it that you can perfectly play any old game now? No more cleaning cartridges, resetting your old nintendo repeatedly, blowing in the game compartment, etc. Wii is the way to go. It's cheap and innovative. Good combination.
Resident Evil 4 on gamecube....blows all other versions away...sick game i enjoy playing the mario games, mario cart kicks ass and so does super smash bros
Yeah, Mario Kart Double Dash is fuckin' awesome. I'll pwn anybody at that game.... seriously. I was just at a party on Saturday and people were talking shit about how badass they are and how bad they beat up on the computer..... then I smoked 'em like a Cuban. They didn't believe me. Tell you what though, when they mentioned strip poker and I told them I'd leave them all sitting around naked, they changed their minds.
Considering there won't be another PS3 shipment for some time(likely till not after Xmas), and all of those will be locked in pre-orders by ebay sellers as well - sales will be mediocre. Sure, everywhere will sell out - but that's not hard when any given store receives 3 units tops. The Wii will enjoy astronomical sales, and the 360 will do rather well too. After the Xmas idiocy is over, Wii will continue to sell strong...360 will taper off a bit...and PS3 will gradually drop to non-existance, experiencing only a slight spike with the inevitable price drop. Of course you'll have another spike when everyone replaces the first units that caught on fire and burned their homes down.
If I had $2500 lying around, I would certainly buy one, however I probably would have made it a little bit more interesting and just camped outside of walmart....oh wait, that's right, walmarts open 24/7. I don't know, but I would have got ahold of one somehow. I wonder how many people in the world right now are playing with there new playstation 3's.
