Democrats sweep election...

Lets hope for some marijuana reform soon!

 

A matter of fact, a kid in school today said that the massachusetts state govenor, wants to legalize it. Sweet.

 

But at the same time, the 3 proposals on the ballot, two in Nevada and Colorodo to legalize it, and one in South Dakota to make it legal for medical use all failed.

 

Exactly, while the Democrats won the seats, the social conservatives won on the issues. Both marijuana and homosexuality did not fair well at the polls

 

And many Democrats that won did so by moving more towards the right to attract more Republican and independent votes.

Yeah that totally sucked, I thought it might have passed cause they had all kinds of people backing it. I guess Nevada is just too much of a red state, almost everyone that won the state election was republican. Kinda wierd how we are the only state to allow gambling and prostitution though.

 

The state doesnt allow gambling and prostitution... the indian reservations do. Correct me if im wrong tho.

 

No it's the whole state. Accually gambling is legal anywhere while prostitution is legal everywhere except Washoe County and Clark County (Reno is in Washoe, Vegas is in Clark)

 

I thought prostitutes were legal in Reno... if their not then I got conned by some hooker!

And democrats are a different side of the same coin for the most part. If you have myspace I'd love to send you Marc Emery's voter guide and you can see how your district and state ended up as a whole in regards to marijuana law reform. Also people like my senator (Bill Nelson D-FL) is a democrat and a staunch prohibitionist where as the independent canidate Floyd Ray Frazier is not only against marijuana prohibition and the war on drugs but he is also a civil rights activist and a really amazing person. Don't be fooled by democrats... Republican representive of Texas, Ron Paul (14th district) is one of the most pot friendly canidates in the past 25 years because he is true to the ideals of the republican party (small central government- nowhere in the constitution does it state that government has the right to control drug policy is his stance). Then there are the social conservative Republicans like the neo-con Bush and his crew that are like Democrat senator Bill Nelson... staunch prohibitionists. Politics are tricky if you don't pay close attention.

I know this is a late reply but yeah last time I checked prostitution is illegal in Reno, thats why theres so many whore houses just outside of town. besides, I'm pretty sure all street whores or illegal, they have to be from a brothel. But anyways yeah I'll admit I don't know too much about politics, but then again im only 17 so I can't vote anyways lol. But yeah you can myspace that thing to me if you want, my name on the space is Reno Death.

And what are the odds of such drastic reform? Very little

 

I dont like Marc Emery one bit. Hes a douche. I do like his works though, with Cannabis Culture and the seeds. But damn hes just a windbag wasting oxygen.
