It depends on what you want to see and your interests.

I'm just not the bustling metropolis kinda guy. It's all too busy and never appears too friendly. People tend to keep to themselves in big cities in England, so I can feel rather alone despite the masses.

If you're doing a bit of tour I'd say take yourselves off to the Lake District, it's the most beautiful area in the country if you ask me. Filled with little towns and villages too which are far more welcoming.

    Forget London
Try and get to a town called Glastonbury.

Nothing wrong with london. Dunno about shops though - I've always thought shops are shops and you can get shops anywhere.

But if you're in london, visit Cambridge - it's only a hop, step and a jump away from Kings Cross Station. If you fancy venturing up north and want to see some bigger cities, well there's Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, among others.

Bristol might be worth a look too, to the West (so far west it's practically Wales).

Also no need to limit yourself to just England - visit Scotland and Ireland too! (you can give Wales a miss though ;))

Aww...I wish I could go to Ireland!!I love this country!!And Scotland too!And Wales! If I could choose,I'd pick one of those.Unfortunately,I'm not going alone, and the other people i'm going with don't want to go there!I'd love to go to the British countyside!!:) That's what I reallt fancy, but now I have to limit myself to England.South England mainly.I'm going there to find all the records, posters and clothes I haven't!I want a Janis Joplin poster,Janis Joplin sunglasses,Bob Dylan LP's....Things I can't find where I live!I hope in England I will find all these!(in the Camdem market maybe?....

PS: What's the weather like now in England?(I don't want to come with my summer clothes and then to find myself soaked!)

Bring summer clothes - there'll be a few bright and warm days.

But bring a rain coat as well as I can guarantee you'll need it.

Aye you'll want some waterproofs at hand like. You're still chance to catch some fine weather, just in between the odd two day downpour.

As for shops, you'll definitely find some Janis-esqu gear in Camden Market. As for the Bob Dylan LP's you might have to look further afield. But You'll certainly find them. There's lots of specialist music stores in London, independant places where you'll find lots of records and bootlegs.

Couldn't give you any exact locations I'm afraid, in the UK Forum there's a music section, a post about shops in there should get you a few replies :)

    thank you all!

I returned yesterday and all I can say is that London was great!Especially Camden!WOW!I found everything I wanted except for the Janis glasses!!:( I looked everywhere but still I didn't find a single shop selling old sunglasses!!: (

The english countryside is far better than London, however.I was amazed by all those grass fields and all the lakes and rivers.. Awww....and the houses!...

In Oxford Street,my friend wanted to go to the bloody KFC.There 2 little kids, stole my mobile phone which was new and expensive.(yeah,I got rid of it,it was errickson Z600 :p )I'm sorry of my dad who paid it!Now I'm gonna buy a crappy one.

Anywayz...that's all.I love England and I really want to live there! It's lovely!I can't wait to be an adult!
