Hey, is it a bad idea to order spore syringes to the place where you plan on growing them? Do authorities keep track of this type of stuff? Also, how long can you store a syringe without damaging the spores? I tried mushrooms last night for the first time and it was fantastic. But they are so incredibly hard to find around here, I'd rather just grow them myself. It would be much more satisfying too.

well order the spores from the same country you live in, if it crossed borders they put a sticker on it saying what it is, plus they put on taxes, i don't think they're gunna go thru your mail to see what's in it, so the chances of authorities finding where you are and what your doing is relatively low

yeah i don't know about the legal issues facing you there. in ireland mushies recently became illegal in all forms, but you can get spores and growing mediums and attract absolutely no attention. the legal loophole here is that spores, including those from psychoactive mushrooms, are freely available for research and educational purposes - you can walk into a headshop and get a grow box and spore syringe, and as long as you purchase them seperately you're not in breach of any law. as soon as you get home and combine them, you are a nasty criminal type, but who gives a shit, you're home already...

I live in the US. Where can i buy spores and what kind should i get? I tell them for me so if the authority tracks his buyings they wouldn't know that i have it.

    P. Cubensis B+ is the ultimate starter strain.

All cubensis mushrooms are basically the same. Some strains have diff characteristics. Potency hasnt ever been an issue for me if they grow there good. A good beginner strain is EQ, or like said above B+ as they handle the temp fluxs better. The pic in my sig is SA. South American strain.

yeah, you can't go wrong with B+ or Golden Teacher.

man...I would love to get some panaeolus cyanescens going, but they don't like temperatures less than 76 deg. F

i've heard that ecuadorian cubensis are particularly forgiving, in the sense that they can withstand a bit more abuse(uncleanliness, wrong temp etc) than other strains, making them good for a first timer...

yea ecuadorian and B+ are extremely fast colonizers, with an incubator your looking at about 12 days maybe a less incubation time. I would'nt worry about it, just order them from a good vendor.

I don't know what the policy on posting links is here, but there are very active forums (100+ simultaneous users) that are devoted entirely to discussions of mushroom growing. They typically have ads from sponsers who have a good reputation among growers. Do a search on google for "mushroom growing". I would choose vendors that advertise on these forums vs. something that just pops up when doing a search for spore suppliers.

Blue Meanies? I have yet to try them but would surely love to come across a patch. ;)
