Chicken or the egg

Which came first?

 

Im of the opinion it was the chicken. The egg couldnt have evolved on its own, it would have needed the chicken, whick could have came from another type of bird.

 

It was the egg. A chicken can't just appear out of nothing but rather develope from the egg which has been the result of the same or another form of organism.

 

A chicken cant come from a ducks egg...

funny you bring this up. a few million billion years ago or was it billion million. anyway I was about to find out which it was but then I was distracted.

Also the riddle doesn’t technically specify that the egg belongs to the chicken. Reptile eggs existed 100 Million years ago.

 

Accordng to evolutionary theory, the eggs evolved much earlier in the evolutionary line than the chicken, hence the egg came first. puzzle solved

 

The answer is probably- Neither came first.
