Is anyone planning on seeing this movie? I know that all the exorcist sequels were really lame, But this looks a little different.

I don't think I'll go see it, just because it doesn't look too scary. I dunno, maybe it will be, but I doubt it.

Actually, I thought I had seen it before but my mom convinced me that it is a new Exorcist PREequel. I could still swear up and down that I've seen SOME movie like that though. Anyways, it grabbed my attention enough to make me wanna see it, but I doubt I'll be rushing out to the movie theaters...prolly just wait until it comes out on DVD.

It sort of looks like it might be a remake of Exorcist II The Heretic

the original exorcist is one of my all time favorite movies. i never bothered to see any of the sequels since all ive heard are bad things. i did go see the prequel tonight though and thought it was ok. there were some pretty scary parts, especially towards the end of the movie. compared to the original its shitty.

I think I've seen The Exorcist but never all as one movie all the way through. I have never seen part II, but I did see Exorcist III, the one with George C. Scott (an actor I really liked) and I have the DVD, and it's a very good movie, in my opinion. Not typical sequal crap.

I don't think I'm in a big rush to see the newest one, but I have yet to see a preview for it.

I think it's interesting that when certain words are associated with various scary movies with evil overtones, the words themselves, which don't necessarily connote "evil," take on an evil menace. The word "exorcist" has the "ex" and the hiss-sound in it, and even though the word refers to a good person removing evil spirits, it still sounds like an "evil" word. The same thing with "The Omen." Even though omens can be GOOD, I still think of "omen" as an evil, cursed word. Strange... Same thing with "prophecy."

    Blue skies,
    -Jeffrey

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie, I've heard several good things about. When I do see it, I'll post back.

The orginal exorcist I will say didn't scare me. I was watching it with 6 other people in the room 5 of which were females...and I was the only one laughing. Noone thought it was very funny.
    Eh, who knows

It's a prequel revolving around the old priest from the first movie, the one who had fought the demon before in Africa. In the original book it gives a very brief account of this story, (i think, I read it a long time ago) anyway, in the first part of the book it says something about some kind of dig in egypt i think where the demon was first encountered. Good concept, but the first movie was only so popular because of the ground-breaking special effects at the time. The book is much better, definately worth checking out.

I'm not all that interested in it really. I didn't like the first one but the sequel Exosist III with George C. Scott in it was acary.. despite being called Exorsist III it actually is the true sequel :)
