When I lived in Hawaii during the Vietnam debacle,there was a radio station that was so RIGHT WING,they got their licence jerked.Granted,Fox is tv,but they are no more than an extention of the republican party and I think almost everyone realises how one sided and unfair they are.There needs to be something done about them ,but how to go about it?Those bastards really piss me off.

all news programs have agendas it is silly to call one on it and leave the others out. Just because you don't like what their reporting doesn't me they she be closed down. Is't it all part of freedom of speech.
Well, maybe I got carried away there,but they seem to come off just like limbaugh--that is-lying fuckers.And skittlechick--the other stations at least try to report news in an objective fashion.When I'm wrong ,it doesn't hurt to admit it,so maybe my temper got the best of me on this.I like Randi Rhodes and I wouldn't want her taken off--but she has facts and can back them up.I mean bush took a meeting with most if not all the right wing talk show hosts--limbaugh,hannity,larson ,et al,just before the election to give them their marching orders.I just don't like people who consistently put down those who like to help the working class,which they do.It's their reason for being.They are always for the rich and the rich are the least of us that need help.Ok--I'm certainly not objective about it.

These people have the right to voice their opinion just as much as we do. As long as it doesn't cause violence or panic (i.e. yelling fire in a crowded theater), they should have the right to say what they want. That's what makes our country so great. We can voice our opinions. But it is a double-edged sword. I don't believe in the monopolization of the media outlets by major corporations like what is happening now. I was against the legislation in 2003 that allowed companies to own more stations and newspapers in one area. I don't believe this should be allowed. It defeats the purpose of a public forum, and blocks the opinions of those who don't believe in what the station owner believes in (example: Sinclar Broadcasting, Clear Channel, News Corp.). But it is also in our power to, when no viable public forum is available, create a public forum. But the public forum MUST be open to all who wish to voice their opinions. EDIT: And yes, I do know that Fox News does incite panic, but so does every other news outlet in the U.S.. Go ahead, check it out. I bet that if you live in the U.S. and you have watched the local news recently, at least one murder or one safety awareness story on how to keep your family safe from everyone has been shown. I live near a major southern city (Knoxville, TN), and every day it's a new story about rape, child molestation, drugs, murder, robbery, etc.

Hear you scratcho Tho I must admit to not really understanding too much about it - last time I turned to the media was - shit .... well - a long time ago. Even here on the web everything has it's own slant.
