KKK set to hold rally Saturday

Members of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan have obtained a permit to demonstrate on the downtown Ellijay square Saturday, Nov. 8, at noon.

Ellijay Police Chief Larry Callahan told the Times-Courier, “Members of the organization applied for a permit to protest illegal immigration Saturday morning. They met all of the specifications required by law and were granted the permit. They will be on the square from noon until 2 p.m.”

The chief said at press deadline Tuesday that traffic will not be halted around the square area during the demonstration.

It has been nearly a decade since the Klan last met in Ellijay. That meeting brought law enforcement agents from multiple jurisdictions, but there were no incidents reported.

Callahan added, “We do not expect any problems Saturday, but we will have an adequate number of law enforcement officers available to handle them if the need arises.”

do you realize that the kkk still has a lot power over the south? There are some crazy racist people still in power. do you realize that the Raainbow family puts the government,society, and corporations in danger? We have proven that we can live peacefully without government control and away from corporate society? They know these things, so that's why it's hard for us to obtain a permit. They don't want us to spread our message because then it's harder for them to control the masses. Plus, i wouldn't doubt that the person who grant the kkk the permit is a racist!

Yeah, the klan recieves their permits for their little marches and rallies. This happens every once and a while. I'm glad to hear there will be a counter-demonstration, please feel free to scream at those assholes for me. I've been to several klan counter-demonstrations, it's fun as hell to yell at them. Usually, there are more people at a klan rally to counter-demonstrate than there are klan supporters. Fuck white supremacy.

 

They've done some of these permited rallys in Austin & there is always a counter rally, they want the cop protection

Pa is huge in the klan movement, york, lancaster, ect the whole state, alot of the local vfw`s keep alot of the pa movement going but the keep it hidden well.

 

id be willing to bet that most anybody who isnt a constant road dog [a very small %of participants in a national gathering ] has gainfull employment or is a full time student...many folks work like hell for nothing to set up gatherings and theres calm mash kiddie village and plenty of drug free fun at gathering ..theres supposed to be no alcohol beyond a camp and this booze thing is the drug that causes real bad things in large crouds.theres more drugs in any town in america than at a gathering . and bad ones like coke crack meth n smack all of which are generaly not at gatheringsin any visibal amounts....as far as what the govt spends harrasing needlessly .....there selling out national forrests to logers is costing more than a bit of $ its causing extinctions of plants n critters and destroying biodiversity as a favor to wealthy earth raping corporations who probly get tax breaks n free profits at the expence of future generations .......off roaders and such do dammage to places n gatherings dont .....just cause you may not want to hang around with hippies , thats no reason to demonize n skapegoat them while saying nothing about govt complicity in global corporate plunderers .

 

The problem with permits it that you have to get govenment permission to breathe in this country anymore, and they're trying to pass it off as a free nation.

The 1st amendment says we have the right to peaceably assemble and doesn't say anything about a permit to do it.

Who are they to say we have a right but only if they give us permission to use it?

That doesn't sound like a right to me. It sounds more like America's same old "free nation" hypocrisy.

I say do your thing and don't bother with the permits. You have the right to do it, and on Constitutional grounds no government man can tell you otherwise.

 

first off the only drug ive ever done at a gathering is cannabis, if u wanna call that a drug...secondly, who said its the governments land, the government is a form of control, not a person, its our land, as american citizens...or better yet, its nobodies land, its the planet earth, and were all part of it, and we should b allowed to get together on it and be ourselves

 

its a sad proof of my claims , the fact that ive missed gatherings cause there wouldnt be anyone with analgesics and id get sick . the last regional i was at i met virginia , who , kicked methadone [evil drug 100x more addictive than heroin that the gov pushes on unsuspecting fools ]with the love and fellowship of fam . at gatherings

well , all you guyes feudin aside , ...i thinh its very easy for people on the outside to get the impression that gatherings are a bunch of idol peeps in a drugged haze......im constantly challenged by my friends who have kids thinkin they cant go to a gath.. now its when kids get 14 or so that it gets tricky ...but lil kids , its just great for them .

 

i think ide bring my teenager to a gethering, they might not come home, but then that would b a win win
