Hey, I'd just like to ask a question bout washing.

If I wash my dreads more, will they lock quicker.

    YES, definetly
was with what he said above^ although dr bronners is the more inexpensive and imo the best of all three

clean hair knotts, dirty hair, oil, and residue inhibit the locking process, although it does still lock....

from my short experience, every time i wash i see the most progress the morning after.

I agree with all that is said above. And I second that Bronner's is best. Nothing compares, IMO. :)

And Dr. Bronner's has so many other uses! It can be a body wash, laundry soap, dish soap, pet wash, etc! Great on dreadies as well as all of the above!

    Peace and love

yeah after using dreadhead and knottyboy

    dr bronners ftw!

Beside price which dosent really bother me.

bronners left my head feeling the most reside free as well as clean.
When i wash with dr bronners I can go 4 days without having to wash my hair
vs the knottyboy and dreadheads 2days max.

dr bronners seems to get deeper to my scalp and clean that better by far than all the rest.

When you first get them, I would say wash less often, I washed mine ever week and a half, now they are a little more stable I wash every 5-7 days. You may want to wash yours more often, this is just what I did. The new knotty boy works really good for me, but thats all I've used since I got mine so I can't really compare.

But yes, the cleaner the better, you've got the right idea.

^^ You shouldn't go that long w/o washing. The oils in your hair will strap dirt and dust and you'll end up with a "goop" in the middle of your dreads. If you can't afford a $3 bottle of Dr. Bronner's every once in a while (and it DOES stretch, and you can dilute it to stretch really far), I don't know what else to recommend... But another thing to remember is that Bronner's is an all-around useful SOAP, not just shampoo. So if you get that it can be used as your only soap, and you won't need to worry about getting any other. Just an idea.

Just make sure you dont wash to often or you will not give your hair time to dry and it will start to mold.

But to have natural knots one must only use water for cleansing them?
