Hi...just out of interest...(I dont really know a lot about globalization) What are the dangers of globalization???? Peace xx
One danger is terrorism. Globalization has been the best/worst thing to happen to Western Civilization. Because of it, a lot of media and material are reaching into the Middle East that many terrorists feel threatened by. So technically, globalization served as a catalyst for terroristic acts against the west.
There are two kinds of fish growers: Rich fish growers And Poor fish growers Rich fish growers have become rich by mostly stealing poor fish growers’ fish feed (colonization, exploitation, slave trade and etc). Poor fish growers fish stayed underdevelopped while rich fish growers fish evolved into giant Orcas with the extra (stolen) feed. There are also various fish tanks and ponds inside the aqua park (the earth). People who grow their fish expose them to spectators (provide services) and earn money. People with Orcas (the G8 countries) want to put their killer Orcas into the same pond where there are lots of small fish (feed for Orcas). But those small fish owners, refuse to admit the Orcas in their ponds, for their own, hardly grown (their feed was stolen) fish would be eaten by the Orcas. As they refuse it, the Orca owners tell them that it is a “democratic” aqua park, where people (suppose to) have equal rights and that everyone may place his fish anywhere he pleases (liberal market policy). At this point two things happen: a) Small fish owner refuse it to death: Cuba, Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guavera and etc. b) They place the orcas in small fish ponds (Latin America, former colonies and etc.), orcas eat all the fish as they please and grow even bigger. So big that they mutate and become amphibious (the watergate scandal). This eating process is called “uncontrolled globalization”. Uncontrolled, because the Orca growers are afraid to stop the Orcas for they can get out of the pool and eat their owners (Hugo Chavez, Venezuella). Placing Orcas in small fish tanks is bad bcuz soon there would not be any small fish left (freedom of choises is endangered, only Orca shows going on).Plus small fish growers would be hungry and rush to cities for foraging and try to draw attention to themselves while everyone is watching the show (suicide bombers). Another thing is that Orcas get spoilt very quickly. They not only ask to be fed, but also want to visit other fish tanks, want their water to be less salty and less wavy and etc. To fullfil those wishes, people in the aqua park gather all their means and that leaves the aqua park barren (global warming, climatic change). When spectators (people) demand that Orca growers should tame their Orcas bcuz the aqua park is getting barren, (ratify the Kyoto Protocol, disarm and etc.), American Orca growers (Bush) say that they wouldnt comply. Now since the small fish amount in the aqua park is getting less, Orca growers become hasty about putting their Orcas into small fish’s tanks first. If two Orcas bite each others, then it’s called world wars. If they dont bite each other but try to bite each others’ prey first, then it is called the Iraq war (where the EU doesn’t want her Orca’s prey –iraqi fish- to be eaten by the American Orca alone). If two Orcas get head to head and small fish pass by their nose while they are waiting for each other to take the initiative and eat the small fish, then it is called the Cold War. So you see, Orcas grow beyond growers’ control. Orcas are so powerful that they can chose their growers by giving money to their election campaigns. So it’s no longer spectators decision who will run which show and how or which show they want to attend. That means the aqua park is no longer democratic. There are only people who incessantly shout that the park is democratic. They make you believe so by distributing flyers within the park (Warner Bros, MTV, and other huge media cartels...or “Media Orcas”).
I enjoyed your "Big Picture" view regarding this Globalization thread. May I post a copy of it on my blog? http://americafirst2004.blogspot.com Secondly, what is your expert opinion on controlling this vicious cycle of economic aggression? Regards, Bram
Bramafear, your blog is one scary piece of work man. This is only your 3rd post? Hmmmm. We'll be keeping an eye on you in here....
brama, I was reading your post on counterfeit items... it's so true. I know alot of people who go to china alot and they bring back so much shit. I'm talking movies, watches, rings, mini-dvd players. My dad brought home a rodan(it's a type of phone, i can't really say alot about it) and he hands it to me. Well, I get closer to looking at it, and it's a fucking lighter. He got it in a flea market. The phone was'nt even out on the market and they were already ripping it off! Now that's fucked up. I just don't like alot of china. It's a great country, but they have too much power. We're selling them the planet for a cheap buck and we don't even realize it.
The reasons for most major wars are: Trade - Pearl Harbor: Japan's embargo influenced by the United States. I Want What You Have - Napoleon's conquest for the sake of conquest. Vengence - Europe: Germany's resurrection after the Versailles Treaty. Had it not been for the trade issue between the Japan & the United States, Adolf Hitler would have been the Emperor of All Europe & Asia. Fear of the Upper Hand - Vietnam: The United States' fear of the Domino Theory. Some are a combination of the bits & pieces of all four. Which category does Iraq fall into? Which category will the G8 's WWIII (which includes the United States) fall into? China & the Far East are treading on the toes of the G8 nations with their appetite for resources, production, & corruption, and it will all end because of the perverse greed of these people. Competition in most forms are productive to society, overall; however, certain forms are downright detrimental to the fabric of an economy when these forms counterfeit & mislead with unfair practices. I just wonder how many US Greenbacks & Euros are counterfeited everyday in China to help pay for their Economic Boom...Boom! If diplomacy fails, I am very confident & afraid that this will be the final option to neutralize China & the Rest of the Far East and most likely give what's left of China to Russia to use in return for some mutual favors to the West, like OIL & a modern population more suited for mass consumerism. Sorry...
Thanks. Actually, I'm no expert on this but yet, I dont think it takes many experts to realize the mis-running of the world. The third world has long been in crisis. It wasnt until the start of the 1970s, that the First world countries are also in serious crisis. But this time, it is system wise. To Habermas, a social crisis may be observed at three levels 1) A crisis of efficieny and rationality on thesystem level (liberal policies dont work anymore, unemployment levels in the 1st world is increasing sharply, the pension system is about to bankrupt in the EU in the coming decades. Discontent is rising and the system needs justification) 2) A crisis of legitimacy on the social level (Unemployment leads to crime, xenophobia and it encourages the army drafting, which sooner or later becomes a tool for finding new markets by waging wars) 3) A crisis of motivation on the individual level (People observing all this, lost their motivation. Imagine Kerry is elected as the President and nothing really changes. Individuals lose their motivation thus they are not productive=discontent, aggression and etc.) Habermas says, a society that experiences all these crisis at the same time is disintegrating. It reminds me of Germany after the Versailles treaty. My humble opinion about controlling the vicious cycle of economic aggression: Neo-liberal (and neo-con) policies which suggest that the states should retreat from the markets and completely liberalize them, should be abandoned. (Change the System) The people are represented and protected by the state, and the state must be the referee in the market, other wise it's the laws of the jungle, larger firms growing beyond control. But if the state is given too much power, than itself grows uncontrollable. So let the markets be free by not defining the production and the consumption rates, but let the state yield enough money to keep the “sacked” people in the society with a strong social system and create a right to equal social services (free health and education services). The Swedish and the Dutch social systems are, I think quite good. The only setback is the aging population but birth can be encouraged. (Change the Legitimacy) Change of individuals will come. Most Americans dont like China bcuz they can compete with the US. Imagine how the rest of the world dislikes the US just bcuz they even can not compete with it!! Cheers!
Absolutely, @#@#$ Right! Please look at my proposal to compete with all heads of state, http://americafirst2004.blogspot.com/2004/05/america-first-vision-and-structure-at.html There is not enough time to change them by conventional channels, they must be shamed & embarrassed to change by, what of course, the popular vote. Right now, 100s of millions of dollars are donated every year to non-profit organizations by huge corporations and foundations which serve to lesson their federal income tax burden. Most of the NPOs are of a religious flavor, and thus is how they are growing like locusts to deliver their good deeds. All of that is fine. However, I believe we could channel a lot of those funds into something like America First and have a direct, apparant, in no time flat, impact on the world's economy & relations. It's all about Trade, War, & Peace, right? The basis for globalization, in my mind, is very simple: fresh investment opportunities with low risk, less taxes on investment, less business, environmental, human resources, etc. red tape, develop future mass markets, cash out & retire on your own island paradise, knowing full well that all of your investments risks would be backed up by the US Military... damn sweet deal, eh? I would like to have our best representatives of America on that board to direct the mission and give that organization credibility. Just imagine what it would be like if AF had, President Clinton serving as President of America First! - He already knows everybody around the globe and has Done It Before! Retired, well respected business & political leaders of our time representing each state as State Speakers. Same as previous, but as for County Executives. the moral of the story is sweet & simple: put those that are already well known, good at what they do, and are aligned with your principles in place to do good TODAY! Maes, I like your post, once again. Would you help me craft such an organization that would look so painfully obvious that it must get done to such people like George Soros, the Heritage Foundation, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, etc. All of these folks are knee deep in trying to be change agents by putting their money where the mouths are. This is the audience for America First! I am trying to get there... Regards, M
Bramafear, I think your model is a little problematic. My objection to your model has two aspects: Technical: The problem is, your model, like every Utopia, suggests total power, control over people. I'm against such Platonic approaches. Thank god that we still have criminals and "abnormalities" in societies: they prevent "the perfect society" from being scientifically theorized, or modelled (if that word defines better). Ethical: It's nice that you have dreams for your country but I'm against all countries I'm also against the military service (which is basically protecting the rich). Why would I die protecting (say) Madonna's or George Soros' investments or properties? I wouldnt want anyone to die for my properties or investments either. Regards...
Maes, Do you have Buds? Friends you can count on? How do you come up with the rent? Food? Beer? Wine? Vacations?
Well, I work for it and compete with other people. I am also well aware of the fact that I'm way lucky than billions of people just by being born in a different geography. One man's richness is another's poverty. But that gap (or the so called "Gini Coefficient") should be minimized. I cant overlook that. We shouldnt say, "let them eat cake" I do have friends but I dont see where you're getting at with that? I'm confused
Like, friends that will come to your aid, Si? We may not agree with our country's direction, but one thing that is most certain is that you will be protected, somewhat better than other countries. Now, that doesn't go for what you mentioned about the Dutch & Swedish civilization... the USA is a joke for parental guidance and support with it comes to economic protection....damn lottery-bingo, let the chips fall where they may-mentality. It's amazing anything works at all around here, lately with folks losing their homes, credit, & lives because we choose to look the other way and ignore it. It takes money to make money, to spend money. How are they planning on maintaining this GDP if investment dollars & chunks of employment are leaving our shores? I say, "Nuts!"
