But I don't. Silly Texas. http://web.ku.edu/idea/northamerica/usa/northcarolina/northcarolina2.mp3 Futther. Linth.
jesus christ i've heard that for the first 12 years of my life then from 13-18 it's been mixed with that and all kinds East Carteret craziness
Crazy. My sophomore English teacher was from Harker's Island. She laughed funny. Like that woman off of Mad TV.
No. Do explain. And don't think it odd that being Texan is like being of a completely different ethnicity. It's been it's own country, after all. And it takes FOREVER and a day to drive through it.
YOU wish you talked like that? I do too. :H My accent is too plain. Lately I've been throwing in some midwest syllables though...
Well... Truly, I wish I spoke like Paula Deen. She has by FAR the best southern accent I've ever heard. That english-suthun woman on that recording is fantastic though.
Isn't it though? It really does sound mildly British...I don't here so much of it down here in EI, but every once in awhile it'll show up around some corner in WalMart.
Paula Dean..she's from savannah....i live like an hour and a half north...i hear her voice ALL the time...its that "proper" suthun tawk. I wish i had a jamacian accent...they have the best rythym in their speech...i can listen to that all day
I wish I could talk like I was from Boston, like in Good Will Hunting. Once someone said that I sound like I’m from NYC, I’m not sure why. Accents are interesting, where do they come from?
I already can talk like that, well it's not my real accent but I can do a pretty good impression of the southern accent.
They have like More accents in this site. http://web.ku.edu/idea/ have a look at this one http://web.ku.edu/idea/europe/england/england32.mp3
If you go to the Southern part of my county, you won't be able to understand shit if you didn't grow up here. There's still alot of German/English slang and words thrown in from the revolutionary war... or just ruralisms, because they used to refuse being acknowledged as being American. If you weren't from there or you don't name someone they know, they used to not talk to you. NC stretches vowels out alot longer. http://web.ku.edu/idea/northamerica/usa/virginia/virginia5.mp3 Haha.
OMG I cant stand the nrth carolina accent. i hear it all the time. you should heere the way the guys here talk. hers isnt as bad cause its mixed with english. ive heard worse.
I probably sound more like this, but with a deeper voice. http://web.ku.edu/idea/europe/wales/wales2.mp3
I decided to read and record the same passage... though I'm not submitting this one. I'm going to make an Eastern VA submission (I keep skipping words or adding in words that aren't there... oh well, it's the end of the day, whaddyaexpect) for that site later. I had some fun at the end of the passage. :H So, you're beginning with a Tidewater Virginia (Southeast)/NC Border area accent and ending with uh... India. Uh.. it quit working. Lemme redo that.
