What causes skin discoloration?

    depends where it is, i know that over-shaving can cause skin discolouration eg. brown patches

    antibiotics can also cause discolouration, so can steroids haha

    and as for skin going lighter... body hair bleaches can i think, if left on for too long

    Smoking and sun damage can cause skin discoloration. Some medications can cause sensitivity to sunlight, thereby, causing damage. There are also some disorders that cause skin discoloration, like kidney and liver disease (jaundice).

    What do the discolorations look like? Are they all over? Without a discription, it's hard to tell what could be the cause. Better see a doctor to be sure.

    What kind of colour are we talking yellow?Thats a indacation of liver damage and a few other things you get if your over weight!!!!

    agreed, a doctor..specificaly a dermatologisty is the best option, but perhaps posting a pic might help slightly
    theres alotta causes, some worse then others...
    could be a simple prob or a serius one..but only a dr can say for sure
