Ok I want to purchase a piece because idk if the tinfoil bowls used on homemade ones are good for me, and I'd rather not risk it. Can anyone give me their reason for picking a glass piece over a metal one. I understand the metal one has a bad taste at first, but how long does this last? Are screens for metal pipes expensive? I like the whole resinator concept on metal pieces, can u do similar with a glass piece? Would I be better off with a glass piece? One reason I'm kind of leaning towards the metal is because I'm always doing ridiculous things when high/drunk and I'd like something tough. The other is price, but then again I want a smaller pipe. Not a one hitter but maybe a bowl that can hold .25g to .5g. Thanks.
There is nothing wrong with metal pipes, but glass is better. Metal pipes are cool for first pipes......my first pipe was metal too, and it never let me down. I would go ahead and get the metal, then get glass later on.
head shops usually sell brass screens 5-10 for a dollar. Ide say go for the metal, its always a good first pipe, if it doesn't work out, buy a glass onwe later. And the metal one would still be there if you break it.
I never owned metal... I went from tinnies when I was alot younger to glass, and I've used glass since then; I very rarely even smoke a J or blunt either. I've smoked from metal many times, and alough its durable, it just isnt worth it for me. Go with glass, and just remember to get something thick.
I never liked the way metal bowls heat up so quick, but I started on them too. In my opinion though, glass bowls hit more and smoother.
I'm going to check out a local smoke shop, and if I can't find anything good I'm going to make a pilgrimage to a head shop. I've decided I want a small glass piece. Like a chillum with a bowl almost. I'm looking for something that's 3 inches long with a traditional bowl/carb setup, essentially a chillum with a bowl.
