I have had recurring dreams ever since I can remember (22 years old) that I am a soldier fighting his adversaries. Most of the dreams involve modern type warfare while others are hand to hand more ancient type. These dreams always seem so vivid like memories....scared, adrenaline rushing, fighting for my life, and for my comrades. As an aside, my younger brother who is very close in age claims to have very similar dreams.
The strange part is I detest war and fighting and actively work for peace initiatives in my daily life.
I can identify with the Native American warrior spirit and have had dreams involving being one. Not that it is interrelated (or maybe..??) but my name is Evan meaning little warrior, and I was born in New Mexico and raised partly around Native Americans whom were our family friends until we moved east to Kansas. I also can claim heritage in my family tree ranging from Prussian cavalry officers, to Norse warriors way back in time.

Fuck war....I will pray for more peaceful dreams and peacefuly reality.

"while the sound of flowers dying carry messages through the wind trying to tell you about balance and you safety... ...eceonomic deities seizing power, through illusions created, armies are justified, class systems our democracy, god listens to warmongers prayers, tyrrany is here, divide and conquer....trying to isolate us in a dimension called loneliness."
--from the song "Look at us" By John Trudell--

    Hello evsride,

remember a warrior is not a soldier. A soldier follows outside instructions as he is being a particle in a war machine. He rather acts on his fear of death, and might be in war with himself often. A warrior instead follows his heart only, and fully embraces whatever he draws into his being. He acts on his love for life and for the unknown.

So ... embrace where the dreams take you, yet be detached from the drama and the adrenaline rush. And even as you let go, the past life will be healed.

Take the dreams as guardians of your own threshold, and see yourself healing as you reach beyond to tap into your spirit journey over and over again.

Embrace the dream experience, yet do not get distracted. Find forgiveness for others, yet allow them to fight their own wars, and see them healing as well. And do not stop to listen to your own heart song.

Beyond that, know that you are your own best interpreter always, and what you make of it might be the most truthful meaning.

    And thank you for sharing
    Have a good day

Thank you for your thoughts. Very insightful. I identify with the warrior part a lot more than the soldier, because obviously as you said, a soldier is a different beast altogether. I once was lost in my early adult years and considered serving in the military and came very close to becoming a part of that large heartless machination that is the military industrial complex. Thankfully I had a lot of things revealed to me through deep thought & studies, and some inspirational people who imparted new ideas in me that helped direct me into a new chapter in my life.

I hope more and more people see the proverbial light soon before even more destruction and despair is visited upon earth by the wicked. Armageddon or apocolypse through religious doctrine is a self fullfilling prophesy that I think too many people are actually wishing for instead of actively working for unity and harmony instead of mutually assured destruction.

    Peace

They may be past life remembrances, in which case it neatly (too neatly, some may say) explains your present aversion.

Personally, I don't believe in the whole previous life ideas, but hey it could very well be true, no one here knows. I do think the main connection between the dreams is your anti-war outlook. I would assume your very active, as you said, working for peace and this has led your mind to think of war and fighting in your dreams. Only problem is, it's flipped, your the one fighting. Just a simple screw up of the mind.
