I recently learned and researched about genetically engineered organisms, and i thik it is horrible! Big companies such as Monsanto are selling their seeds all over the place, and we eat their fucked-up food without even knowing it! In Europe, many people have protested, and it works. Here in the U.S, many people dont know what is going on and therefore the buissness keeps on going. I live very close to St. Louis, which has the Monsanto headquarters. I think it is a good time to have our oppinions be heard. I just need help spreaking the word out to protest. If are interested in joining me, let me know.

This getting ridiculous. I'm not especially against science, but there are some thing that are just morally wrong, especially in the food industry. I heard that they put fish genes in strawberries so they could withstand low temperatures. Even animals are getting fucked up. Did you know pigs can't reproduce without the help of humans anymore?

Know the differences between genetically modified & genetically ENGINEERED, please. Try Greenpeace.

I think the horrors you are referring to deal with genetically engineered foods. Engineering deals with DNA splicing & creep-o science labs, but genetically modifying foods has been going on since the 50's; it explores breeding & enhanced evolution. ...Sort've like what we have done with the wolf to create dogs breeds.

So, just know the difference before you debate with some haughty "scientists". :)

Just FOOD for thought, har har.

Yeah, i heard about the fish genes in the strawberries. It ended up not working. One of the guys who was working on that said, "It was a long shot to begin with, fish and strawberries live in a different kind of environment." But i havent heard of the pigs not being able to reproduce. If that is true, it is really sad. But last year in our DNA in biology, my teacher was saying that they are going to try to breed cows by genitic engineering without legs so that there would be less waste and there could be more room to cram cows together in feedlots. I dont know if she was for real, or just being sarcastic. God, i hope she was just joking. That is the most discusting thing i have ever heard.

When i was researching about biotech foods, different works said different things. Some said "genetically engineered", some said "genetically modified" and some said "biologically enhanced" but were all talking about the same thing. But what you said made more sense. Thanks for pointing that out!
