Do you drink alcohol (beer or liqour) warm or cold? I know it's a general question, but I mean for the most part. I drink both warm, the only cold beer I like is Heineken, and even that I only drink cold if I bought it that way.
it really depends. hard liquor, and some strong liqueurs such as jagermeister, i keep in the freezer....some liqueurs i prefer at room temperature or refridgerated. beer in general i prefer chilled instead of cold or warm, but it depends largely on time considerations, the beer itself, my mood, and my environment. i'm not going to be too keen to drink room temperature imperial stout or belgian strong ales during the middle of august; likewise a very cold becks is right out of the question during cold weather. wine i generally will keep in the fridge, but once i take it out for the first glass i leave it out and allow it to warm up a bit as i'm drinking it, then put anything i dont drink back in the fridge.
daym, I knew my poll was too general. Oh well, a wasted first poll, I guess I know better for next time.
Warm. I just love beer, and I like to drink warm ones in the hot sun. An imperial stout on a hot day is like a room temperature coffee just sliding down and tasting so good.
with liqour it doesn't really matter much to me, but with beer it depends on the style and or the mood i'm in. For instance pilsners or lagers i tend to only drink ice cold. Where as something like Het Kappitaal quadrupel, i'd like closer to room temp. In other words, full bodied beers i tend to like a little warmer
I said cold because I mainly drink beer lately. Beer has to be cold. But wine and liquor I always drink warm.
i try to have the beer around the recommended drinking temperature if possible. but if that can't be done, i'll take it chilled, not too cold, but enough to be refreshing.
For me, lets start with beer. Most beers I will drink at the freezing point, unless it is dark beer(my favourite) which I will drink at about 50 degrees. As for hard liquor, I only drink bourbon, and I will pour it over ice.
Well, you can try and fuck a warm beer. Good luck on that one. But as for a dark beer, if you drink it at 50-60 degrees as opposed to 35-45 degrees, you will find that it brings out more of the flavor. Dark beer is not meant to be drank ice cold.
bassplaya - that's because you're fifteen and probably drink milwaukee's best ice. hard liquor of any kind has to be nearly frozen......ethanol...sucks.
For beer, only lagers and some standard ales are meant to be consumed ice cold, and even some of the better ones shouldn't. When I drink Belgians, I consider it a waste to drink them even moderately cold. It's not how they're meant to be consumed, and you're losing out on the sensory experience big time, because cold deadens the flavor and the body of the beer, making it taste completely different than it should. If people want beer to be cold and refreshing, they should stick to the simple lagers and pilsners. As far as hard liquor, it depends totally on the liquor.
all beer crappy or not I gotta drink cold...unless I'm doing a beer shooter than I like it warm because it goes better with the sake or kinda melts the baileys...i wanna try an irish car bomb with the new carmel baileys with chocolate stout...wish I didn't have to go to work early tommorow morning ):
The kinds of beers I drink really only release all of their flavors when they warm up a bit...or in some cases warm up lot. When I get a beer like Rochefort 10 or Westvleteren 12, I don't even uput it in the refridgerator. The dogfish heads I will lightly chill Porters are the sam, and Ston beers as well. IPA's and Pilsners are meant to be served very cold, and I do follow those rules. Mixed drinks cold scotch and burboun neat white wines chilled red wines not
