Its a cool read, have only got thru the first 50 pages or so...but read Sabbags other book about real life coke smuggler Zachary Swan and enjoyed that...this book Smokescreen...here's a quick summary from Amazon

"Robert Sabbag's astonishing "novel" Smokescreen portrays the real adventures of a real hero of the American underground. Allen Long began as a documentary film-maker following a number of drug dealers and smugglers through the highs and comedowns of getting illicit materials to those who most want them. He then decided, connoisseur that he was of the almost mythical Columbian gold, that smuggling marijuana himself may very well be the best way to fund his film--and the lavish Hollywood lifestyle to go along with it."

The other classic read for anyone interested in dope is of course Mr Nice by Howard Marks

Yes Jon, Mr Nice is a very entertaining read! and how the guy remains so intelligent and 'switched on' when so very stoned is amazing! he's a real charmer for sure, think your one ahead of of me in your reading!

I also saw Howard do his chat routine, unfortunately it was in Aylesbury Civic Centre where lots of pensioners with season tickets didn't really understand who he was or what he was going on about, this actually made it all the more hillarious!

High Time by David Leigh is also worth a browse if you can find a copy, though I don't think HM rates it!

hey! best book I've read so far was by Elizabeth Gips. "Scarpbook of a Haigh Ashbury Pilgrim" is really amazing in that I felt transported to this sacred mediocrity. Of course this was probably furthered by my herbal augmentation... ;)
