Still they had a big support base - ask any Russian now who stalin was - I have asked many- and they will tell you - he is the greatest leader Russia EVER had - he is massive over there I used to live with several russians and they had parties etc where I would meet many of their friends - they are genuinely surprised that we believe anything but that he was a good and decent man with Russia as his prime concern
