    Notion and seOne present

Dust off your skinny jeans for the most exciting night in November - everyone knows fireworks night is rubbish - as Notion magazine and seOne present ‘Who the Fuck?’ on Thursday 16th November 2006.

If you object to profanities or fucking fantastic new music then put your fingers in your ears! ‘Who the Fuck?’ is dedicated to exploring new musical boundaries and making sure the best new bands get the publicity they so rightly deserve. As well as bringing you this aural smorgasbord of musical delights, Notion has also kindly compiled an exclusive ‘Who the Fuck?’ CD. Featuring tracks from the bands, the CD will be given away free with every ticket, maximising the impact of these hot new bands.

    • Lorraine

A Norwegian musical three-piece who met their keyboard player when he was drunk at a bus stop, Lorriane have been busy conquering UK soil this year. Consisting of Ole Gundersen (vocals), Andrew Winsents (guitar) and Paal Myran-Haaland (keyboards & programming) the talented group have chosen a little black box to be their drummer simply because robotic percussions do what they are told. They formed in Bergen, Norway and spent their formative years rehearsing in a disused warehouse on the town’s outskirts.

    • Touriste

The band formed in their home town of the Isle of Sheppey, an island off the Kent coastline, and was certainly the subject of very many early songs about kids being bored on a tiny island. The band is made up of two brothers Sam (vocals, piano & guitar) and Kris Harris (bass), Rob Wilks (guitar) and Mike Dove (drums). Tranquil, or rather sedate, life in Sheppey encouraged the boys to form a band and make it to the main isle as soon as possible, and they are succeeding. The bands average age is only 19 and their determination has quickly paid off.

    • 747’s

This is a band of many cultures, with all four members bringing the style of music they grew up with in Ireland, England, Italy and Germany and somehow blending it all into the 747s. Songwriters Oisin Leech and Ned Crowther joined forces in Dublin, busking on guitar and bass. They then moved to Naples, here they met drummer and jazz-fiend Massimo Signorellli leading them to form the 747s and playing their first gig to 5,000 people. After touring Italy, they returned to Dublin and found fourth member Freddie Stitz (guitar and vocals), completing the make up of the band.

    • Revere

Revere, an eight piece consisting of Stephen Ellis (vocals, guitars), Jonathan Fletcher (guitars), Anderw Hawke (bass, vocals), Raphael Saib (drums, percussion), Robyn Baynton (violin, guitar, vocals), Nathaniel Mumford (trumpet, glockenspiel) and Kathleen McKie (cello). Taking safety in numbers quite literally, the large and talented group are still looking to add a pianist to their mighty melodic troupe. Incorporating violin, cello and trumpet into a guitar led sound, Revere touch on numerous musical reference points – a strong mix of gypsy marches, klezmer, film scores and gospel info a unique sound.

    • Members of the Public

Members of the public are a London five piece who work and breathe in an ex-abattoir. The slaughterhouse dwelling band consists of Paul Riley (vocals, guitar, keybord), Gary Wall (guitar) Chris Lumsden (Bass), Lee Chapman (keyboard and guitar) and Woody (drums). The boys tell of a spiritual sixth member, a ghost who haunts their meaty home they affectionately call Nathan, coincidently, also the name of their manager. Their music is gifted with the gentle touch of the Beach Boys, the melancholic melodies of Spiritualized, with a strong background in the sharper edge of Eighties New Wave and a taste for the more contemporary Strokes experience.

The host of the night, the legendary SeOne club, is worth a visit for its rich musical history alone. Situated under the railway arches of London Bridge station, it has 30,000 square feet of the latest sound and light technology - making it London’s largest licensed dedicated nightclub. Not bad considering its beginnings as a car-park by day, but inhabited at night by squatters and ravers for legendary parties.

‘Who the Fuck?’ promises to be a night not to be missed, packed with cutting-edge music. There are limited tickets, so what are you waiting for…
