use religion as an argument. This drives me insane sometimes, that someone dare say their beliefs are correct and others are wrong. Just because your god says something, doesnt mean thats what my god says, or someone elses, or an athiest who doesn't believe in god. The constitution garuntees freedom on religion, but some are trying to use it to rule. This really drives me crazy when i see someone using religion for a political gain.
I completely agree with you!!! I saw Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speak the other day, actually, and he pissed me off like NO OTHER. He's supposed to be a huge environmentalist awesome person, and he was all right until he started talking about how God doesn't approve of the GOP's policies, and using religion to prove his points about being right. It makes me mad that these "moderate" people we are supposed to trust to run our government are really religious nut jobs. Religion and politics should never mix. The whole country seems to have gone crazy in that regard. Ugh; what's the world coming to? ~Nova
Most people are religion influened single issue voters, ofcourse politicians will use it; it's half the basis of the political structure.
The nature of politics is to curry favor with the most voters. That makes religion, namely the semitic derived religions, a perfect political tool in today's world and all throughout history. Who can challenge a policy when ties with a deity / afterlife / ingrained belief system are implied.
Well put Axe! They are just following the cues of their marketing experts. We've seen how well some of these right wing christian advocates actually walk the walk lately.
