60's Restauranteur" She was a burlesque dancer turned dessert maker, she ran an erotic dessert delivery store out of 1398 Haight Street

So distinct was the food, that the flavors still remain in my mind, in particular, one green curry beef dish, costing a dollar, that included raisins, peanuts and treats proper for the hippie palate..

Maggie was a great woman, truly one of a kind! After the 60's and her famous place on Haight St. she ran a restaurant downstairs at the Boarding House-a venue for up and coming performing artists in S.F. At only 18 yrs old,I was hired by her there to make her also famous desserts, the Montana Banana and the Pineapple Pussy which were ice cream dishes that were sculpted to resemble male and female parts respectively. All of the food was unique and delicious including the Chile Magnolia. She was a great influence in my life and I'm sure I'm not the only one.Rumor has it that she was the inspiration for the Greatful Dead's Sugar Magnolia. She passed on in 1996 and will be remembered and missed by many.
