I have to admit, I never would have seen THAT reply coming lol! Not in a million years. But yeah, its does boggle the mind a bit when you see righteous countries like America and Canada at the UN demanding a worldwide 'ban' of female circumcision and yet we stand here absolutely guilty of exactly the the same thing. Even after the American and Canadian Pediatric Associations have both made it clear they recommend against this practice. Obviously, this is a sticky wicket when you factor in the Jewish and Muslims that live in these countries. You cant ban their religious rights without a total firestorm of controversy. I guess thats why it was left at 'recommend against' instead of a 'ban'. Crazy world. 'Dont be a fag' LOL!
are you talking about the 1999 AAP statement on circumcision? If so, they do not recommend against. They do not, however, recommend that circumcision be routine. The whole consent issue is completely BOGUS when it comes to children. Parents have LEGAL rights, ya know. Circumcision is well within a parents right just like vaccination. Why dont you anti-circ people get all up in arms about thrusting a sharp object into a baby? You don't have their permission. How dare you make a decision for them. How dare you. Kinda silly.
So, your two's responses are "we're going to ignore any data that doesn't suit us". What I expected, but it's a shame anyhow that nothing about this topic can be discussed in a mature manner. Also, a distinct lack of reading comprehension abilities: no where did I state that the debate was over loss of feeling, but rather that there are facts that directly contradict points used in the debate. Not that I expect either of these two problems, lack of maturity nor reading ability, to get any better from my addressing it here. Rather, I'll remove myself from this topic as I've no interest in trying to discuss a subject with those purely looking to argue, regardless of their perceived opponent's agreement on the debate topic.
I would say a parent's right to raise and protect their kid is a natural right. Perhaps the most basic of all human rights.
We make tons of decisions raising our children. I am a mother of a 9 months old .. YES circumsized boy> LOL> and i decided whether he got breastmilk or formula. I decide what he wears. Later in his life i will decide if i will put him a total french school. Where @ home we speak english!! That is part of parenting, we make EDUCATED decisions that we feel are best.. And i absolutely did it for health reasons when hes older, and I'll definately tell him when hes older exactly why i've done it.. he'll be greatful, just like hubby was when he was done@ birth.
Rumpus, I realise that you are trying to save face here with this 'proper sounding' reply. However, If you were to just stop and think about what you attempted to say you would realise its pretty ridiculous. You do not (trying not to snicker here I swear) you do not have any 'points' that are 'directly contradicting' anything in this debate. Im not trying to rub it in but just stop already lol. You gooned that up on so many levels I cant even bother. the comparison of this to an innoculation or some sort of other surgery doesnt work. In this case its 'plastic surgery'. In other words, parents CAN consent to a child having an immunisation shot or surgery to repair something like a 'cleft pallate' or whatnot. You CANNOT have a 'nosejob' done on your child. You cannot have a 'boob job' done to your daughter.. heck not even until she is 18 in most countries! Even if she wants it! Wierdly, American parents CAN have a baby boys penis skin amputated so that the glans is exposed. Because they like seeing it opened up like that. Even when its not erect. Fascinating.
I have read this thread sparatically from the beginning and I think it is quite hilarious. I am personally circumsized, traditional jewish briss... However... looking down between my legs, I can tell something went horribly awry. If I inspect very closely the head of my penis, I can see a distinct deep scar, on the left side, starting where the "scooped blade" sheered into my post-natal flesh. the scar runs about a half inch on the penis and below it, where the foreskin was, is a patch of gross feathery looking flesh.... this is what surrounds my entire end of my penis. Now from a distance it appears to be a normal cut job, but only if i look very carefully can i see the errors that nervous old rabbi must have made. Do I think i was worth it for my dad to decide to have this done to me? without my opinion? No. Do I believe we are born how we should be and if we were meant to be without foreskins, we wouldnt have them, but we do have them, and we should have them, and I can say growing up I had alot of problems wearing certain types of underwear, i couldnt even wear boxers without being in constant discomfort from the seam.. over time this constant discomfort and frustration may be the reason I have severe anger problems. This is farfetched but not impossible to rule out. I would normally advocate circumzed lifestyles, if it werent for an article i read a long time ago claiming that sometimes men with uncut penises have problems with their foreskins tightening up as they get older, preventing them from cleaning themselves properly, resulting in fungus-like smegma deposits emitting odors from even a distance. I dont want my kids wanting into their first jobs stinking up the room with their penis. Also if an individual runs into this problem of an undergrown foreskin, then he will have to undergo this painful surgery as an adult as opposed to a tiny infant who wont remember anything.
i totally agree with u pupilatedials.. i found this site http://www.gatago.com/alt/circumcision/19880230.html its quite unbelieveable how many people have this problem with their forskins!
Has anyone here smelled someone elses penis at work when it wasn't in your face? I don't think so, come on. Freedom of choice people, that is all I have to say.
Yes, it describes itself perfectly... 'Unbelieveable'. Listen to yourself. You sound like these kids in school who made stupid jokes about how womens pussies smelled like dead fish and this kind of juvenile stupidity. Guess what.. your breath smells. Your armpits smell. People who smell bad need to do this crazy thing called 'washing themselves'. Can you just believe the scary wierdness of someone suggesting you kill the body part instead. Well there is it folks. There it is.
Im not joking.. did u actually check out that link .. probably not.. Many of men have a problem like that! Washing themselves doens't alway help the problem. If you read that link there are men stating they wash constantly and still have the same problem!
We're hearing all this nasty smelly natural penis stuff from North Americans who aren't familiar with them--try that kind of talk in Europe and the laughter will deafen you! People who have their whole penis, or who love men who have them, think it's just fine and wouldn't want anything to change.
Has anyone seen this study that was just released. It stated in this article that had routine circumcision been in place there would have been a 48 % reduction in STD's. Interesting stuff. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15593753/
I've got a loose cut, so I can pull my remaining foreskin over the head when both hard and soft. The best of both worlds. Cutted
