RAPPER Snoop Dogg was arrested yesterday by airport police on suspicion of carrying marijuana and a handgun.
The star, real name Calvin Broadus, was apprehended at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California.
The 35-year-old was taken to Burbank Police Department jail, where he was booked on the gun and drug charges.
Snoop was pulled up during a "vehicle code violation" yesterday in the passenger loading and unloading zone of the airport.
Cops say when they questioned him, the rapper admitted he had a firearm in the car and was found to be in possession of marijuana.
He was released last night on £18,450 bail and is scheduled to appear at Burbank Superior Court in a month's time.

His lawyer, Donald Etra, said: "There was no basis for this arrest.

"We believe once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed."

It is not the first time the Signs hitmaker has been picked up for allegedly carrying a weapon.

Prosecutors in his native Orange County, California, are considering filing charges against him for allegedly having a banned police baton in his hand luggage at John Wayne Airport last month.

It was reported that Snoop had attempted to carry the weapon through a security checkpoint for a flight to New York on September 27 when he was stopped.

The star is already banned from the UK after he and his entourage were arrested following a brawl at Heathrow Airport in April.

The fight broke out after they were excluded from a VIP lounge.

Sources claim the Home Office banned him because of his US criminal record.

This does not surprise me. It's been authorized by the PATRIOT Act (which was written and planned to go before Congress well before 9-11 ever happened). Already hundreds of thousands of Muslim men have been deported from this country because they came from a Muslim nation that our 'infalliable' government considered a threat.

It's like those comedy shows you see on tv where some guy gets randomly raided by the Department of Homeland Security. I'm fairly surprised that we're still able to get away with making those shows...

On suspicion alone they can question anyone. Where have you been? The vehicle was in violation and when they questioned Snoop he admitted to having a firearm.

Again, police do not need the Patriot Act to question somebody on suspicion. It has been this way long before the Act was passed.
Why? Because of immigration violations? How dare the US government deport people that are not even supposed to be in the US anyways.

The US is quickly falling into a police state. Here we have heard that they can question a convicted drug dealing former gang member murderer, whose vehicle was in violation, then arrest him and search the vehicle because he admitted to illegally carrying a firearm and possessing an illegal drug. And he is famous!!!! There is no reason why security should just be allowed to follow standard protocol and question persons in a vehicle that could potentially be laden with explosives and is parked in an area it is not supposed to be.

Then we hear that the US Immigration is deporting muslims who are not even supposed to be here because they are not holding valid Visas.

I don't know how you Americans can put up with this bullshit.

i can understand how snoop always has to carry a gun. being rich and a rapper your supppose to have that image. i also think being a celebrity he can get away with anything. sad part is that he will only get probation when anyone else would get a couple years in prison. they did the same thing to willie nelson they pulled him over and busted him for having pot. they definately went after willie with no just cause. snoop definately asks for it most of the time.
