trust me I hear that. I pulled a 65 hour week last summer. That was during a 5 week period where I did not have a single day off. I remember this kid I worked with would call in on a bad trip and leave me alone to do the work three people normally would. uggh, I think I did a total of 260+ hours for those 5 weeks, lots of overtime at least! In fact, that weeks without a break, I am pretty sure thats illegal, along with many of the things that boss did: bounce checks, pay workers really late, a garbage bag covering the entire back window after he smashed the window, had a 12 year old kid working there a few years ago..yah, thats just a start!!! He is very lucky
when i was doing my chefs apprenticship i was being over-worked for $6.90 an hour, no overtime. 60 hour work weeks became normal. I swear i developed an eye twitch from the stress. Then my boss $#@! me over royally (long story that involved me supposedly sleeping with her partner) So i know what you mean about being overworked. Now i'm just a cook (never made it to chef) but it's okay, i'm working lax hours in a good environment. Some things turn out for the best (sorry for rambling and getting off topic)
I work as a cook...... the kitchen manager was on vacation, so the chef scheduled me quite a bit this week to compensate..... Im just a supervisor....
